Revisit the lovable, charming characters, heart-warming (and tugging) stories and the exquisite music of some of the best-loved and most popular Pixar movies at 'Pixar in Concert,' presented by Hoag, as Pacific Symphony's Summer Festival 2013 continues.

The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, in cooperation with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, presents The Big Picture: A Night at the Oscars celebrating the legacy of Academy Award-winning films and music at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at 7:30 PM. From Casablanca to King Kong and Jaws to Up, with music composed by Max Steiner, John Williams, Michael Giacchino, George and Ira Gershwin, among many others, The Big Picture features clips and music from some of the most beloved and acclaimed movies of all time. Iconic scenes are projected in HD on the Hollywood Bowl's giant screens -including the four brand-new LED HD screens located throughout the venue - while the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, led by David Newman, performs live from the films' magnificent scores.

Single tickets are now available for The Grand 1894 Opera House's Simply Irresistible 2013-2014 Performing Arts Season. Located in historic downtown Galveston, The Grand will open its new powerhouse season with the internationally-acclaimed and award-winning music legends, The Beach Boys. This world- renown group will present two spectacular performances - Saturday, October 5at 8pm and Sunday, October 6, at 4pm.

The 2013 MLB All-Star Charity Concert benefiting Sandy Relief will star Alan Gilbert and the New York Philharmonic with special guest appearance by multiple Grammy Award winner Mariah Carey tonight, July 13, three days in advance of the Major League Baseball All-Star Game at Citi Field, which airs on FOX. The concert, which will be free to fans but requires each attendee to have a ticket, will take place on the iconic Great Lawn at Central Park tonight, July 13 beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Universal Music Group announced a worldwide deal with legendary musician and songwriter Mark Knopfler. Knopfler's new record Privateering will debut on UMG's Verve Records September 10 after a 35 year relationship with Warner Brother Records. Max Hole, Chairman and CEO UMG International comments, 'Mark has long been one of the most innovative and successful artists in music and we're thrilled he's decided to sign to Verve so that we are now working with him everywhere across the world.' The new music is Knopfler's first double album of new music in his entire recording career. 'The older I get, the more I want to write,' Knopfler notes. 'I'm enjoying the process more than ever, writing, recording and playing live, I enjoy all of it. I'm almost tripping over songs.'

This year's Summer Gala at The Ridgefield Playhouse will feature singer/songwriter and actor Lyle Lovett and his Acoustic Group tonight, July 8. A singer, composer and actor, Lyle Lovett has broadened the definition of American music in a career that spans 14 albums. Coupled with his gift for storytelling, the Texas-based musician fuses elements of country, swing, jazz, folk, gospel, and blues in a convention-defying manner that breaks down barriers. A consummate showman, known for his sarcastic wit and Grammy Award winning vocals, Lovett's songbook includes the hits 'Here I Am', 'Cowboy Man' (#10 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs), 'Give Back My Heart' and 'That's Right (You're Not from Texas)'.

The quartet takes on nine selections ranging from Cedar Walton's “Bolivia” to Chick Corea's “Tones for Joan's Bones” to John Coltrane's “Mr. PC.”

The Cleveland Orchestra, under the direction of William Eddins, will perform in The Star-Spangled Spectacular brought to you by Cuyahoga Arts & Culture, the Orchestra's 24th annual free community concert in downtown Cleveland, tonight, July 1, on Public Square.
