Paper Mill Playhouse is hosting its largest fundraising event of the year, The 75th Anniversary Gala tonight, May 10th.

Transition. Evolution.) Approaching Hip Hop's 40th birthday - marked by a legendary party held by DJ Kool Herc on August 11, 1973 - Hip Hop: HTE host, Ramon 'Rik' Singley, will interview icons from all facets of the industry on the origins, commercialization and future of Hip Hop music and culture. Hip Hop: HTE will air during 12 scheduled prime time broadcasts on Tranquil Water NY, Inc.'s upcoming online media site: GoBe.TV. The airing of the first show will coincide with the launch of GoBe.TV, commencing on Hip Hop's 40th anniversary. Online fundraising forHip Hop: HTE will begin on the crowd-funding platform IndieGoGo.com on May 1, 2013.

FPAC's Gala fundraiser features Broadway headliners Sara Jean Ford, Tyrick Wiltez Jones and NaTasha Yvette Williams in an exclusive one-night-only show that brings the magic of 42nd Street to Boston's MetroWest suburbs. The evening also features silent and live auctions, performances by Electric Youth and the Franklin Performing Arts Company, special guests and dancing until midnight with Boston's popular R&B band, Soul Kitchen.

The National Symphony Orchestra Pops will present three performances of The Wizard and I: The Musical Journey of Stephen Schwartz May 16-18 in the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. Led by Principal Pops Conductor Steven Reineke, the performances feature performances by Jeremy Jordan, Norm Lewis, Julia Murney, Jennifer Laura Thompson, and The Washington Chorus. Director, writer, actor, and originator of the Hairspray dynasty John Waters returns to the Harris Theater on May 21 to perform his critically acclaimed one-man show, This Filthy World. Updated and expanded from the original film version by the same name, the man affectionately known as "The Pope of Trash" presents this hilarious evening focusing on his early negative influences, fascination with true crime, exploitation films, fashion lunacy, extremes of the art world, Catholicism, sexual deviancy, and his love of reading. This is Waters' second visit to the Harris after his sold-out show in 2010.

As part of their In Performance at the White House series, the President and First Lady will invite music legends and contemporary major artists to the White House for a celebration of Memphis Soul music. The program will include performances by Alabama Shakes, William Bell, Steve Cropper, Al Green, Ben Harper, Queen Latifah, Cyndi Lauper, Joshua Ledet, Sam Moore, Charlie Musselwhite, Mavis Staples and Justin Timberlake, with Booker T. Jones as music director and band leader.
