Animus Theatre Company has announced its 2014 Season, which will feature Matthew Lillard, Leslye Headland, and Alan Langdon, with plays by Bob Glaudini, Tennessee Williams, and Headland. The MainStage Production will be Dutch Heart of Man by Glaudini, directed by Alan Langdon, running April 24th thru May 11th. The Workshop Production will feature four short plays by Tennessee Williams: Moony's Kid Don't Cry; The Long Goodbye; Talk to Me Like the Rain and Let Me Listen; and The Pink Bedroom. The one-act plays, all presented nightly, will be directed by Matthew Lillard and run August 1st thru 10th. Both productions will be presented at the Cherry Lane Theatre in downtown NYC, the 2014 home of Animus Theatre Company. The season will be rounded out in the fall/winter with a multi-media festival headlined by Leslye Headland's Seven Deadly Sin Cycle Plays (Cinephillia, Bachelorette, Assistance, Surfer Girl, Reverb, and The Accidental Blonde) presented as a collection of readings for the first time in New York City. Cast and creatives for all of the above will be announced at a later date.

Rehearsals begin next Tuesday, March 4 for the Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) World Premiere production of YOUR MOTHER'S COPY OF THE KAMA SUTRA, a new play by Kirk Lynn (Co-Artistic Director, Austin's Rude Mechanicals).

Red Bull Theater will present the 30th Anniversary Revival of Charles Ludlam's The Mystery of Irma Vep, starring Arnie Burton and Robert Sella, directed by Everett Quinton. The Mystery of Irma Vep will have scenic design by John Arnone, costume design by Ramona Ponce, lighting design by Peter West, and sound design by Brandon Wolcott.

Mint Theater's new production, London Wall by John Van Druten, featuring Julia Coffey, Katie Gibson, Matthew Gumley, Jonathan Hogan, Laurie Kennedy, Elise Kibler, Stephen Plunkett, Christopher Sears, and Alex Trow will now continue through April 13th at Mint's home (311 West 43rd Street). This is the American premiere of John Van Druten's 'rivetingly entertaining' (The Guardian) romantic drama, which opens tonight, Monday February 24th.

Performances begin tonight for Roundabout Theatre Company's third annual Roundabout Underground Reading Series. Sharon Bush, Philanthropist & Founder/Chief Executive Officer of Teddy Share, Arianna Huffington, Chair, President & Editor-in-Chief of the Huffington Post Media Group, and Joan Vail Thorne, playwright and director, are Women's Project Theater's 2014 Women of Achievement who will be inducted at its 29th Annual Gala Celebration at the Mandarin Oriental, 80 Columbus Circle, Monday, March 10, at 6:00pm.

Alley Theatre presents the world premiere of a new comedy by Theresa Rebeck, Fool. In Rebeck's new comedy, two kings get together and place a wager on their fools - a jester competition, and the funniest one gets to keep his head. Two evil minions have a lot to say about this, but not as much as the kitchen wench. And what's the queen been up to all night? WORKSHOP THEATER COMPANY has announced, as part of its 20th Anniversary Season, their upcoming production of William Shakespeare's THE WINTER'S TALE, directed by Ryan Lee. THE WINTER'S TALE will play a four-week limited engagement at The WorkShop Theater Main Stage (312 West 36th Street, 4th Floor). Performances begin tonight, February 20 and continue through Saturday March 15. Opening Night is Thursday, February 20 (7 p.m.). Press are invited to all performances.

Continuing its tradition of presenting innovative and cutting-edge works, Lisa Steindler, Artistic Director of Z Space announces the world premiere of Hundred Days, a folk rock odyssey conceived and composed by The Bengsons.

Samuel D. Hunter's haunting Off-Broadway smash-tragicomedy The Whale will receive its fifth production worldwide in Austin TX-Spring 2014-following successful runs at The Denver Center, Victory Gardens, South Coast Rep, and Playwrights Horizons in NYC. Austin's own A Chick & A Dude Productions will present the show at Hyde Park Theatre (511 W. 43rd St.) Thursdays through Saturdays, today, February 20-March 15, 2014. Curtain at 8pm.

From March 7 through April 5, 2014, SpeakEasy Stage Company will present the New England premiere of the acclaimed Off-Broadway drama THE WHALE by Samuel D. Hunter.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will host 22 theatrical offerings from 20 different countries during WORLD STAGES: International Theater Festival 2014 that will run for three weeks March 10-30, 2014 throughout the Center. The international festival features contemporary theater works offering 13 fully staged productions, 4 theater-focused installations, 3 readings of new works, and 2 forums. From Olivier and Tony Award-winning puppetry to innovative perspectives on old classics, a diverse showcase of theatrical expression will be represented by countries spanning the globe including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, England, France, Iceland, Iraq, Israel, Japan, Kuwait, Mexico, Pakistan, Palestine, Scotland, South Africa, Sudan, Syria, and the United States.

New York-based playwright/psychiatrist Guy Fredrick Glass tackles the controversial subject of gay conversion therapy in a tale of love, liberation and opera. John Henry Davis directs the world premiere of Doctor Anonymous, opening March 29 at the Zephyr Theatre.

Lincoln Center Theater has announced that John Aylward, Kristen Bush, Beth Dixon, Barbara Garrick, Jan Maxwell, Luke Niehaus, Kevin O'Rourke and Michael Simpson will be featured in its upcoming production of THE CITY OF CONVERSATION, a new play by Anthony Giardina, directed by Doug Hughes. THE CITY OF CONVERSATION begins previews Thursday, April 10 and opens on Monday, May 5 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street). Additional casting for THE CITY OF CONVERSATION will be announced at a later date.

The Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival, the nation's premiere short play competition, is now collecting submissions for its 39th season. The deadline for submissions is Friday, February 28 at 11:59pm.

La MaMa, in association with Monk Parrots, presents the World Premiere of Bum Phillips All-American Opera, a new contemporary opera conceptualized and directed by Luke Leonard, composed and conducted by Peter Stopschinski, with a libretto by Kirk Lynn. Bum Phillips All-American Opera runs from March 12 - 30, 2014 in a limited engagement at La MaMa's Ellen Stewart Theatre, located at 66 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue & the Bowery in New York City. Previews begin March 12 for a March 15 opening.

Soho Rep. announces casting and performance dates for the world premiere of Branden Jacobs-Jenkins's An Octoroon, directed by Soho Rep. Artistic Director Sarah Benson. The production, April 23-May 18, concludes a banner New York season for the celebrated playwright, whose Appropriate makes its New York premiere February 25-April 6 at Signature Theatre.

This event is a special day-long symposium that offers the public an in-depth exploration of the political and artistic sides of All the Way, the new play about Lyndon Baines Johnson's first year in office, which stars Bryan Cranston ('Breaking Bad') and is directed by Bill Rauch.
