 "It's wanting to know that makes us matter," says one of the characters in Arcadia, Tom Stoppard's luminous comedy of ideas. In this profound, funny, moving, Olivier Award-winning masterpiece, Stoppard explores the great mysteries of science and art, and illuminates the very human desire for making connections - intellectual, romantic, and physical. Arcadia opens at Palm Beach Dramaworks on March 31 and continues through April 30, with specially priced previews on March 29 and 30.

In another hit for Long Island's John W. Engeman Theatre, Tony nominee The Full Monty delivers a lively production like its Broadway predecessor. This wonderful incarnation, directed superbly by Engeman newbie KEITH ANDREWS, runs through March 5th at the gorgeous Northport venue. The tale centers on a group of steel workers who were laid-off from their job and we follow them trying to get back on their feet and overcome insecurities.

THE FULL MONTY played a full-hearted opening last night. Check out the photos below! This 10-time Tony Award nominee is filled with honest affection, engaging melodies and a raucous mix of razor-sharp humor and toe-tapping pizazz... not to mention the most highly anticipated closing number in Broadway history! In need of quick cash and low on prospects, six unemployed Buffalo steelworkers come up with the outrageous idea to put on a strip act after seeing their wives' enthusiasm for a touring company of Chippendales. As they prepare for the big night, working through their fears, self-consciousness and anxieties, they overcome their inner demons and find strength in their camaraderie.

Based on Thomas' classic story about his childhood holidays in Wales in the early 1900's, this beautiful piece about a time gone by rejoices in the simple joys of childhood, the spirit of goodness, the comfort of family, and the magic that music and the imagination bring to us all.

The festive show is being revived for the first time since it last appeared on the STNJ stage in 2003, featuring Greg Jackson in the role of Dylan Thomas. Performances begin November 30 and run through January 1 at the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre, 36 Madison Avenue in Madison. Tickets to this musical celebration can be purchased by calling the Box Office 973-408-5600 or online at ShakespeareNJ.org.

The electric, near ecstatic atmosphere in Brunswick's Pickard Theater last night more closely resembled that of a rock concert than a theatre company opening. For months in advance, the sold out box office has signaled the joyful anticipation of Maine State Music Theatre's new production of Mamma Mia! - one of the first regionally for the blockbuster Broadway hit.
