Daniel Radcliffe, the young star of Peter Shaffer's play EQUUS on Broadway (Broadhurst Theatre, 235 W. 44 St.) --will be honored with his very own caricature unveiling at the world famous Broadway eatery, Sardi's Restaurant (234 West 44th Street) on Thursday, January 29th. Radcliffe joins the ranks of Broadway royalty whom have been honored with a caricature on the famous walls of Sardi's Restaurant. EQUUS will conclude its 22-week engagement as scheduled on Broadway on February 8th, 2009. The play opened in September 2008 at the Broadhurst Theatre, marking the Broadway debut of Daniel Radcliffe. Mr. Radcliffe stars in the revival of Peter Shaffer's play opposite Tony Award winner Richard Griffiths ('The History Boys'). Thea Sharrock directs this production, which marks EQUUS first time on Broadway since its debuted and won the Tony Award for Best Play 35 years ago. Daniel Radcliffe is the internationally-renowned star of the 'Harry Potter' films and will begin shooting the final 'Harry Potter' movie shortly after concluding his Broadway run in EQUUS, in which he made his much-heralded Broadway debut, followed by considerable acclaim.

UK's The Telegraph is reporting that Trevor Nunn discussed the potential for a Harry Potter musical and the fact that he almost had the rights for such a project, but the timing wasn't right...Nunn presented a South Bank Show lifetime achievement award to Sir Cameron Mackintosh last week and told the Telegraph that Warner Bros swiped the production rights from under his nose. 'Many many years ago I proposed it and they said: 'Oh if only you had come to us a few weeks ago. We have just sold the movie rights',' he harrumphs. 'It will be a long time now before anyone is allowed to stage Harry Potter.'

Continuing Village Players' mainstage 'Season of Music' is the classic play Amadeus, running February 14 - March 15, 2009. Titled after the famous composer's pen name, Amadeus follows rival composer Antonio Salieri as he continually tries to undermine Mozart's success. In the play, Salieri is a successful court composer who aches for the kind of talent he sees in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. He views Mozart as a profane and unworthy vessel for God's gifts. Both men are technically proficient, hard-working composers and musicians, but Salieri cannot find the elusive element to make his mediocre music have some of Mozart's beauty, passion, or inspiration.' Appearing as Salieri is veteran actor Larry Garner of Chicago. He has performed with Collaboraction, Seanachai, Pegasus, Eclipse, Journeymen, and understudied at Steppenwolf, Victory Gardens and Court Theatre. Recent credits include the Interpreter in Un Robot for Collaboraction, for which he shared an After Dark Award for Best Ensemble. A multilingual actor who has lived in Italy and France, Garner is also serving as Dialect Coach for the production.

Talking about EQUUS on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Radcliffe noted that 'I've done it about 260 times. I am genuinely having a very good time, we have 4 weeks left and I hope everyone comes and sees us.'

The UK's Telegraph is reporting that EQUUS star Daniel Radcliffe told producer Candia Fisher that he would like his next stage performance to be an all-singing affair. Radcliffe scored big at the annual Gypsy of the Year event this year performing an original song, written by Radcliffe himself, entitled 'The Love That Dare Not Speak Its Neigh' that included the show's 'horses' dancing and cavorting with their young star.
