Remembering some recent Broadway productions that concerned those who bravely make the ultimate sacrifice.

The Grimaldi Forum Monaco will be presenting CHICAGO, the musical, from 21 to 24 June.

Christopher Sieber is currently playing the role of Albin/Zaza in LA CAGE AUX FOLLES on tour. Christopher's career has been unique and diverse. He has been on TV and Broadway and brings his own life's experiences to the role of Albin/Zaza. Christopher was also priviledged to play the role of Georges on Broadway. He is the only actor who has ever played both lead roles in LA CAGE. He shared his experiences and lessons he has learned over the years as a performer and details of his current role as Albin/Zaza.

The Pantages Theatre will host the touring productions of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES and MEMPHIS this Summer.

South Florida theater fans are in for an array of Broadway hits as the awesomely cool, ROCK OF AGES, opens the all musical Broadway in Miami 2012 - 2013 season at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami Dade County. Scheduled to launch the season with a bang, from October 9-14, ROCK OF AGES will be followed by the high-stepping Broadway Musical for the entire family, MARY POPPINS, set to bring in the New Year, January 1-6; the return of the world's greatest musical, LES MISÉRABLES, in a brand new 25th anniversary production, February 26 - March 3; the outlandishly colorful PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT will keep audiences on their feet with its parade of dance-floor favorites, April 2-7; and Best Musical Tony Winner of 2010 MEMPHIS will make its triumphant Miami debut with its explosive dancing and powerhouse songs, May 7-12.

Last week, Segerstrom Center for the Arts (formerly the Orange County Performing Arts Center) announced its brand new Broadway Series for the 2012 - 2013 Season. For it's BROADWAY SERIES, the Center will host touring companies of MEMPHIS, THE ADDAMS FAMILY, WAR HORSE, BILLY ELLIOT, FLASHDANCE and SISTER ACT, plus 'Curtain Call Series' shows WICKED, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, and ANYTHING GOES.

The First National Tour of MEMPHIS stops at PlayhouseSquare in Cleveland for a show-stopping run. The cast - lead by Bryan Fenkart and Felicia Boswell - doesn't disappoint on any level.

Although not as memorable as some of its forebears, MEMPHIS packs plenty of R&B sass.

Beginning tonight, Thursday, January 12, 2012, Harlan Bengel, Lute Breuer, Hunter Canning, Anthony Cochrane, Andrew Durand, Ben Horner, Leah Hofmann, Tessa Klein, David Lansbury, David Manis, Nat McIntyre, Geoffrey Murphy, Andy Murray, Tommy Schrider, Jack Spann and Katrina Yaukey join the 37 member acting company of the Tony Award winning production of WAR HORSE. The National Theatre of Great Britain's production, presented by Lincoln Center Theater and the National Theatre of Great Britain in association with Bob Boyett, continues its open ended run at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street).

Destiny Rising, the gala dance performance to benefit NYC Dance Alliance Foundation's College Scholarship Program promises to be an even more dazzling evening with the addition of a number of special guests recently announced by NYCDAF Executive Director Joe Lanteri who will direct the performance on January 16 at The Joyce Theater.

Hang around the theatre long enough and you grow accustomed to hearing the word 'problematic' applied primarily to two things: a Shakespeare play that's not one of his better efforts or the book of a musical that's rarely revived, despite an excellent score.
