JOSEPH is one of my favorite escapist musical theatre scripts. I love the music, the creativity of taking a Bible story and making it into a pleasant family experience without getting preachy. The version now on stage at the Palace was not one of my favorite stagings of the show. Audiences will generally like it, but it could have been 'One More Angel in Heaven,' at least in show business firmament, but it wasn't.

Directed and choreographed by Tony® Award-winner Andy Blankenbuehler, the new tour will launch at Playhouse Square in Cleveland, OH, on March 4, 2014.

Alright guys, real talk. There's a certain cast member who needs to be called out.

DISASTER!, the 1970s disaster movie musical now playing Off-Broadway at the St. Luke's Theatre (308 W. 46th Street), has just announced that it will welcome new cast members in the coming weeks.

Presented by Mary J. Davis, DISASTER! is the hilarious, acclaimed 1970s disaster movie musical now playing Off-Broadway at the St. Luke's Theatre (308 W. 46th Street). DISASTER! is written by Seth Rudetsky and Jack Plotnick, directed by Mr. Plotnick, and has choreography by Denis Jones. A send-up of the 1970s disaster movie genre, DISASTER! features some of the best songs of the 1970s, including 'Hot Stuff,' 'Don't Bring Me Down,' 'I Am Woman,' 'Alone Again Naturally,' 'Signed Sealed Delivered,' 'Knock On Wood,' 'Daybreak' 'Sky High,' and more.

Mary Birdsong (Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me, "Reno 911") will join the cast of DISASTER!, the hilarious, acclaimed 1970s disaster movie musical now playing Off-Broadway at the St. Luke's Theatre (308 W. 46th Street) on Monday, December 9th. Ms. Birdsong will take over the role of lounge singer "Jackie," played by Michele Ragusa, whose final performance will be on Friday, December 6th.

Those who come to the St. Luke's Theatre today, November 29th with 2 canned goods will be eligible to purchase $25 tickets to that afternoon's special matinee performance at 1:30 PM. All collected canned goods will be donated to charity. The St. Luke's Box Office will open at on Friday, 12/29 at Noon ($25 tickets are available IN-PERSON ONLY on a first-come, first-served basis while supply lasts).

On August 5, 54 Below featured 'Not At This Performance- a concert with Paul Castree, Robi Hager, Jesse JP Johnson, Veronica Kuehn, Bethany Moore, Libby Servais, Taylor Trensch & Donna Vivino.

BroadwayWorld.com is very excited to announce that we will be returning to Joe's Pub at the Public Theater in 2014, kicking off a year-long celebration of the community and our 10th anniversary with regularly scheduled concerts, live streams and special events in a BIG way. The concert series will launch on January 20, 2014 with BROADWAYWORLD VISITS OZ, directed by Richard Jay-Alexander and with music direction by Mary-Mitchell Campbell. Coming up this week, 54 BELOW, the performance venue located just below the legendary Studio 54 at 254 West 54th Street, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz and beyond. 54 Below also launched its series of late night events. Joining Tuesday nights' popular "Backstage" with Susie Mosher is 15:54, and more:

Tonight, August 5th, 9:30pm, 'NOT At This Performance' returns to 54 Below for a second edition. The evening features past understudies who never got to go on in the roles they covered, finally get to play those roles in front of a live audience.

The concert stars Paul Castree (Young Frankenstein, 9 to 5), Robi Hager (How to Succeed in Business, Bye Bye Birdie), Jesse JP Johnson (Wicked, Altar Boyz), Veronica Kuehn (Avenue Q), Bethany Moore (Pippin), Libby Servais (Wicked), Taylor Trensch (Matilda, Bare), and Donna Vivino (Wicked). The audience can expect to hear music from All Shook Up, Hairspray, High Fidelity, Into the Woods, Lysistrata Jones, Rent, Spring Awakening, and Xanadu, as well as behind the scenes stories.
