The new Broadway play Mothers and Sons from 4-time Tony Award winner Terrence McNally, now playing at the Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street), welcomes co-founder of The Tyler Clementi Foundation, Jane Clementi, who will be joined by Tony Award winning producer Paul Boskind (The Normal Heart) for a special post-show "Talk Out" discussion following tonight's, Wednesday, May 14th, evening performance. Jane Clementi is the mother of Tyler Clementi, the Rutgers University student whose suicide opened up an international dialogue about the bullying of LGBT youth. Since Tyler's death, the Clementi family has worked tirelessly to promote new stories of inclusion, dignity and acceptance for vulnerable youth and their families as way to honor the memory of their son, brother and friend. The discussion will begin shortly after Wednesday evening's 7pm performance, and all audience members are welcome to participate. The Board of Directors of About Face Theatre Company has announced that Executive Director Jason Held will be stepping down at the end January to pursue a position with Playworks Chicago. Held, who has served since 2010, will remain with the company on the Board of Directors. Award-winning producers Randy Taradash, Paul Boskind and Martian Entertainment, and Gregory Rae have announced that the new production of BARE will offer $30 tickets to anyone under the age of 30, 30 minutes prior to curtain on the day of the performance only. Available on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings, those with valid IDs can purchase up to 2 tickets for best available seating from the box office at New World Stages. Credit cards and cash will be accepted for the 30 under 30 program, and tickets are based upon availability. General rush tickets are still available on the day of performance only at the box office, with a limit of 2 per person. Only cash will be accepted for general rush tickets, which are valid for the 18 tickets in the front row. (more...)
