As overachievers go, Isabel Rose makes Oprah look like a slacker. She is a published author, equally comfortable in the realms of fiction and non-fiction, an award-winning actress who has conquered stage and screens (big and small), a screenwriter whose 2003 hit film Anything But Love was deemed a 'charmer' by the Los Angeles Times, and a playwright and composer who adapted her first novel, The J.A.P. Chronicles, into an off-Broadway musical that enjoyed an extended run in early 2006. If that weren't enough, she also graduated summa cum laude from Yale.

'The Girl Singers of the Hit Parade' is a truly entertaining show jam-packed with hit after hit from some of the best-loved female vocalists of all-time. Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi will receive The Wyler Award, one of The Humane Society of the United States' most prestigious honors, at The 23rd Genesis Awards on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif. Given to a celebrity or public figure who has made news on behalf of animals, the award is named after the late Genesis Awards founder Gretchen Wyler, the Broadway headliner and animal activist. 'Ellen and Portia stand up for their beliefs, and they have had a major impact in spreading the message about animal protection,' said Wayne Pacelle, president and CEO of The Humane Society of the United States. 'They had a particularly significant role in helping to pass Proposition 2, and they helped make the case to the people of California and to the rest of the nation that all animals deserve humane treatment, including animals raised for food.'
