The second recording, 'Calendar Dream', is an exciting new project that teams Andrea up with a stellar array of Broadway's most awarded writers to journey though a year of a woman's life.

Barbra Streisand 'Working on Rights Issue' for GYPSY Film

As BroadwayWorld reported yesterday, Barbra Streisand recently revealed that she wants Lady Gaga to star in her upcoming GYPSY film, in which Streisand will play 'Mama Rose.' Now she opened up with Entertainment Weekly about the upcoming movie, telling Jon Barret that she's "still working out one rights issue" and that "it should happen, but it just takes forever."

Five of the entertainment world's leading ladies will perform in New Orleans in 2013 as Seth Rudetsky's popular Broadway Concert Series makes the leap to NOCCA's Lupin Hall from its summer home at The Art House in Provincetown, MA. Patti LuPone, two-time Tony winner for Gypsy and as the legendary original Evita, will appear for two shows only on January 7th at 6:30 and 8:30. Sutton Foster, two-time Tony-winner for this year's Anything Goes and previously for Thoroughly Modern Millie and star of the ABC Family series Bunheads arrives for one show only on March 2nd at 7:30. Megan Mullally, two-time Emmy-winning star of TV's Will and Grace and star of Broadway's Young Frankenstein performs two shows only on April 6th at 7:30 and 9:30. Audra McDonald, a five-time Tony Award winner and recent star of Porgy and Bess on Broadway and TV's Private Practice will make her New Orleans debut with two shows only on May 18 at 7:30 and 9:30. Betty Buckley, the Tony winning legendary star of Cats and Sunset Boulevard will close the series on June 1 with two shows only at 7:30 and 9:30. The visiting Broadway artists will also be giving master classes for the NOCCA Institute's high school-aged musical theatre students. All five concerts are produced by Mark Cortale, long time producer/manager of Jeffery Roberson aka Varla Jean Merman, and will be hosted by Sirius/XM radio star Seth Rudetsky at the piano. The Acting Company's 40th Anniversary Ruby Ball was held on December 3, 2012 at Capitale, and James Houghton, Founding Artistic Director of the Signature Theatre and the Richard Rodgers Director of Juilliard's Drama Division, accepted the John Houseman Award recognizing his profound commitment to the development of American actors and an audience for the theater. Earl Weiner, Board Chairman of both The Acting Company and the Theater Development Fund (TDF) received the Warburg Humanitarian Award for his outstanding philanthropic endeavor and leadership. As has been long speculated, Barbra Streisand is still hard at work on making another GYPSY film, in which she would play 'Momma Rose,' and according to Time, she has her sites set on Lady Gaga to co-star. Joel Stein writes: 'She told me about her cousin Lowell, I told her what a mullet is, she told me she's thinking of casting Lady Gaga as the lead in her remake of Gypsy, and I told her I was really, really cold.'

Producers have announced that THE ANARCHIST, the new play written and directed by DAVID MAMET, which began previews at the newly refurbished Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street) on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, and opened on Sunday, December 2, 2012, will give its final performance on Sunday, December 16, 2012, at 3:00pm. Upon closing, the production will have played 23 previews and 17 performances.
