Released in limited theaters on December 5, 2002, THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE TWO TOWERS is the second installment in Peter Jackson's fantasy adventure film trilogy based on J.R.R. The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will bring the soundtrack of Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl to life in Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center November 23-24, 2012, at 8:00 p.m. Guest Conductor Richard Kaufman, who has devoted much of his musical life to conducting and supervising music for film and television productions, will lead the Orchestra and the Atlanta Vocal Project in the score from the movie, which will be shown on a giant screen.

November 1-3, 2012, 8:00 p.m.: Guest conductor Asher Fisch will lead the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in Richard Strauss's Death and Transfiguration and excerpts from Wagner's Die Meistersinger. Pianist Stewart Goodyear will join the Orchestra for Mozart's Rondo in D Major and Piano Concerto No. 24.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a 'knowledgeable source' has revealed that funnyman Stephen Colbert will make a cameo appearance in Peter Jackson's upcoming HOBBIT trilogy. The 'Colbert Report' host is a known J.R.R. Tolkien and Lord of the Rings fan who teased the possibility of a cameo in a recent interview with Playboy magazine.
