tiata fahodzi, the UK’s leading British African heritage contemporary theatre company, today announces a new season of creative initiatives, appointments and productions designed to support and invest in the future of Black British artists, in celebration of its 25th anniversary. 

Kyshona has released the video for her latest single “Out Loud,” a song she wrote with friend and fellow artist Caroline Spence, about braving the silence to speak a difficult truth. The video was created by Nashville-based, Emmy-nominated animator Katie Callahan in collaboration with Salt Lake City illustrator Molly Powers.

Today, Nashville-based, critically-acclaimed artist Kyshona has released “Out Loud,” a song she wrote with friend and fellow artist Caroline Spence, about braving the silence to speak a difficult truth. The importance of listening is a central theme of Kyshona’s music. In 2020, she released the appropriately-titled LP Listen.

A phone call out of the blue from the daughter of a former Army colleague leads Jimmy Adair to reminisce about his days as a soldier in the waning months of World War Two. As a private, he traveled across war-torn Germany and into Austria recovering famous art from Nazi hiding places, and this new novel from Dog Ear Publishing follows his fictional story, inspired by historic events. This coming-of-age novel features a young man trying to make sense of the brutalities of war.

Originally choreographed by Bob Fosse, numbers such as 'Big Spender', 'If My Friends Could See Me Now', 'Rhythm of Life', 'I'm a Brass Band' and the 'Rich Man's Frug' keep toes tappin' and audiences wanting more.

The musical version of L.Frank Baum's timeless classic, THE WIZARD OF OZ comes to life on stage at the Olivette Community Center as part of their Summer Theatre Camp 2009. Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg's tuneful score is given a nice workout by the Over Due Theatre Company, augmented by a vast ensemble of kids who portray the various munchkins, poppies, Winkies, monkeys and citizens of the Emerald City.
