National Theatre Announces Cast For STORIES, A New Play By Nina Raine

Rehearsals began today for Nina Raine's new play, STORIES, which previews in the Dorfman Theatre from 10 October, with a press night on 17 October. Joining the previously announced Claudie Blakeley as Anna will be Stephen Boxer, Beau Gadson, Thusitha Jayasundera, Margot Leicester, Molly Simm, Katie Simons, Sam Troughton and Brian Vernel.

Nancy Medina Wins The RTST Sir Peter Hall Director Award, Josh Seymour Runner-Up

The Royal Theatrical Support Trust (RTST) and Royal & Derngate Northampton have announced Nancy Medina as the winner of the 2018 RTST Sir Peter Hall Director Award and Josh Seymour as the runner-up. Now in its third year, and its second bearing the name of the RTST co-founder, Sir Peter Hall, the award is made to an up-and-coming director demonstrating exceptional directing skills in a rigorous competitive process.

Kitchen Theatre Company, Central New York's Off Broadway theatre, announces its 2018-19 season: seven exciting productions that fit perfectly with the Kitchen's mission to create bold theatre in our intimate space that engages community and sparks important conversations. Beginning with an indie rock musical and ending with a story about a deaf man's struggle to find his place in his family and the world, the season includes comedies, dramas with timely and historical themes, and even a thriller. Since they published their first title, Mrs Klein by Nicholas Wright, alongside its National Theatre production in 1988, Nick Hern Books (NHB) has gone from strength to strength. The company now boasts over 1500 titles on their list, and a staff of thirteen based at their London office in Shepherd's Bush. In honor of their 30th birthday the company threw a party to celebrate. The new set of NYC performances will run June 20 through June 30 following two Los Angeles performances at Largo on June 6 and 7, 2018. Today (16 April 2018), rehearsals begin for the West End production of Nina Raine's Consent which will begin previews at the Harold Pinter Theatre on 18 May with its opening night on 29 May 2018. Directed by Roger Michell and originally co-produced and commissioned by Out of Joint, this strictly limited 12-week run is booking through to 11 August 2018 following the 2017 critically acclaimed sell-out run at the National Theatre. A series of accompanying pre-show talks and discussions exploring ideas of justice, consent, marriage and modern parenthood will be announced at a later date.

Winner Announced for 2018 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize

The 2018 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has been awarded to U.K. playwright Alice Birch for her play "Anatomy of a Suicide". Now celebrating its 40th anniversary, the Prize is awarded annually to recognize women from around the world who have written works of outstanding quality for the English-speaking theatre. The Winner will receive $25,000 and a signed and numbered print by renowned artist Willem de Kooning.

Sonia Friedman Productions and the National Theatre today (12 March 2018) announce the West End production of Nina Raine's Consent following the 2017 critically acclaimed sell-out run at the Dorfman Theatre. Directed by Roger Michell and originally co-produced and commissioned by Out of Joint, Consent will begin previews at the Harold Pinter Theatre on 18 May for a strictly limited 12-week run. Opening night will take place on 29 May with booking through to 11 August 2018. Tickets for this West End transfer - with over 14,000 priced at £25 or under - will go on public sale on Thursday 15 March 2018 at 10am.
