AMERICAN IDOL is currently searching to fill the chairs of exiting judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez. Morissette told Mix 941, a local CBS radio station that she is currently in discussions to joing the long-running FOX singing competition.

Newly appointed showrunner Tim Doyle has made the decision to recast some of the show's roles, including that of Ryan, ex-boyfriend of Kristin which last season was played by Nick Jonas.

Nick Jonas has confirmed rumors that he is in talks to become a new American Idol judge on his Twitter account yesterday, August 4, 2012. Jonas Tweeted: 'The rumors are true... I am being considered to be a judge on American Idol, and it would be a dream come true if it happens. #nickonidol'

According to The Hollywood Reporter, AMERICAN IDOL contestant Kimberly Locke wants to be considered for one of the newly vacated judging seats on the upcoming season of the singing competition.

According to US Weekly, N.E.R.D. rapper Pharrell Williams is currently in serious talks to become one of the new judges on the next season of FOX's AMERICAN IDOL.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Mariah Carey has officially joined the AMERICAN IDOL judges panel for 2012, but an announcement has yet to be made regarding who will fill the other two chairs at the table. According to US Weekly, Broadway veteran Nick Jonas is on his way to doing just that. An IDOL insider told US: 'Nick is pretty close to signing to be the Idol judge. They flew him in to L.A. last week for final meetings.'
