Actors Theatre of Louisville Announces Lineup for THE TENS This January

Artistic Director Les Waters and Managing Director Jennifer Bielstein are proud to announce the 2016 lineup for the Apprentice/Intern Company evening of new ten-minute plays. The Tens runs January 12-16 in the Victor Jory Theatre at Actors Theatre of Louisville.

Tonya Pinkins Stars in 'MOTHER COURAGE', Beginning Tonight at Classic Stage

Classic Stage Company's production of Bertolt Brecht's MOTHER COURAGE AND HER CHILDREN, starring Tony Award winner Tonya Pinkins, begins performances tonight, December 9 for a limited engagement through January 24. MOTHER COURAGE AND HER CHILDREN will be directed by Brian Kulick and will feature original music by Tony Award winner Duncan Sheik. The official press opening is Thursday, January 7.

Bronx Latino Gay Holiday Play Opens Tonight at BAAD

?BAAD! The Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance proudly presents Los Nutcrackers: A Christmas Carajo, written by Charles Rice-Gonzalez and directed by Luis Caballero. This marks the first year that the award-winning director of Off-Broadway hits La Lupe: My life and My Destiny and DC-7 The Roberto Clemente Story steps in to helm the work. The play interweaves two holiday classics, The Nutcracker and A Christmas Carol, and creates a queer, Latino play about a gay couple who go on a psychedelic trip through their lives one Christmas Eve.  The play will be presented December 4, 5, 11, 12, 16, 18 and 19 at 8pm and  Saturday, December 12 at 3pm at BAAD!, 2474 Westchester Avenue in the Westchester Square section of the Bronx. Tickets are $25 with discounts offered for seniors, groups and Bronx residents and members of BAAD!, BCA and NALAC.  For reservations, information and to purchase tickets visit www.BAADBronx.org or call 718-918-2110. HOUSE OF CARDS, MAD MEN Stars Round Out Cast of The New Group's BURIED CHILD

The New Group has announced full casting for the company's production of Sam Shepard's Buried Child. Directed by Scott Elliott, this production will feature Larry Pine (Casa Valentina), Rich Sommer ('Mad Men'), Paul Sparks ('House of Cards') and Nat Wolff (Paper Towns), and as previously announced, Taissa Farmiga, Ed Harris and Amy Madigan. Previews begin February 2 in advance of an Official Opening Night on Wednesday, February 17. A limited Off-Broadway engagement is slated through March 13 at The Pershing Square Signature Center (The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre, 480 West 42nd Street).

The New Group Extends Cynthia Nixon-Helmed STEVE

The New Group announces a one-week extension for its world premiere of Steve, a new play by Mark Gerrard, directed by Cynthia Nixon.  Due to demand, Steve will now play through Sunday, January 3 at The Pershing Square Signature Center (The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre, 480 West 42nd Street).  The production, which was originally set to play a limited Off-Broadway engagement through December 27, began previews November 3 and celebrated its Official Opening Night on November 18.

Happy Birthday Daphne Rubin-Vega! Rubin Vega is a two-time Tony and Drama Desk nominee and recipient of the Theater World, Obie, Blockbuster awards and was recently nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for her role in Jack Goes Boating. She is perhaps best known for the roles she originated, including Mimi (RENT) and Conchita (Anna in the Tropics), both Pulitzer Prize winning Broadway shows for which she was nominated for the Tony award. She also originated the role of Rahmi (Gum), Sofia (Nilo Cruz' Two Sisters and a Piano), Canary Mary (Suzan-Lori Parks' f**king A, Lucille Lortel nomination) and Lucy (Jack Goes Boating) at the Public Theater, as well as starred in the Broadway revivals of The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Magenta) and Les Mis, ('Fantine') and most recently, The New Group's Blood From a Stone ('Yvette') opposite Ethan Hawke.'
