Associate conductor Nate Patten (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) is never one to hold back opinions on his own podcast, Booked It. And so along with host Patrick Oliver Jones, Patten addresses some of the confusion, consternation, and controversy created by this year's Tony Award nominations.

A line up of stars from Broadway, TV, film, opera, and literature helped SALT Performing Arts raise over $11,500 during its fundraising campaign, PASS THE SALT, during its April 23rd online COOPED UP CABARET.

ELF THE MUSICAL is a fun family favorite for all ages. Based on the 2003 film which starred Will Ferrell, the show debuted on Broadway in 2010 with George Wendt as Santa Claus. He reprises the role in the touring production at the Wang Theatre, leading an ensemble of singing and dancing elves, and a big, childlike Erik Gratton as Buddy the Elf.

FLASHDANCE - THE MUSICAL, the stage adaptation of the 1983 hit film that defined a generation, will perform at Detroit's Fisher Theatre on March 10 - 22, 2015. Complete casting and the creative team have been announced for the upcoming benefit concert of MR. MAGOO'S CHRISTMAS CAROL benefitting the The Actors Fund. This one-night-only event will be held on Monday, December 15, 2014 at 7:30 pm at The Gerald W. Lynch Theatre at John Jay College (524 West 59th Street).

Rehearsals began this week for the cast of the upcoming North American tour of FLASHDANCE - THE MUSICAL, the stage adaptation of the 1983 hit film that defined a generation. The tour is set to open in Boise, ID on October 21, 2014.

The worldwide smash hit 'rock theatrical', Queen and Ben Elton's We Will Rock You, built around 24 of Queen's biggest hits will rock The 5th Avenue Theatre July 8-13. We Will Rock You is produced by Queen Theatrical Productions, Tribeca Theatrical Productions, Phil McIntyre Entertainment and NETworks Presentations.

Book problems? Yes. But there's a really talented group of performers involved in this one.

The hugely popular 1983 film Flashdance, starring Jennifer Beals, received a musical facelift and had its world premiere in July 2008 at the Theatre Royal Plymouth. Following a UK Tour, FLASHDANCE – THE MUSICAL opened on London's West End in late 2010. However, the show closed earlier than expected on January 15, 2011. By December 2011, the musical was slated for a Broadway opening in Fall 2012. Ambitiously, the creative teams also announced a second company that would tour the show starting in 2013. The First National Tour of FLASHDANCE – THE MUSICAL kicked off in Pittsburgh on January 1, 2013, giving the show it's second World Premiere of sorts because the re-envisioned production of title features new songs, a new book, a new creative team, and a different physical production. The musical has been on a whirlwind tour and has dates booked through May 4, 2014. Yet, the Broadway opening has been postponed to an unspecified date later in the 2013-2014 Broadway season.
