the cell presents the US Premiere of South African drama YEAR OF THE BICYCLE by Joanna Evans. Directed by Shariffa Aliby, it is presented as the centerpiece of the 2nd annual C.M.O.R.E. Festival dedicated to Creating More Opportunity for Racial Equity among playwrights, directors, and actors. Performances run now through May 2 at the cell (338 W 23rd St, between 8th & 9th Avenues). Tribeca New Music continues its 2017 Festival season with doubleheader New York premieres featuring Canadian composer Nicole Lizee's Hitchcock and Kubrick Etudes for video, electronics, and piano performed by pianist Kathleen Supove, and LA-based composer Ian Dicke as he premieres his Cowboy Rounds for piano, voice, and electronics.

Directed by Kira Simring (Hard Times: An American Musical), CRACKSKULL ROW began previews on February 3, 2017 and officially opened February 10 at Irish Rep Theatre (132 West 22nd Street) in the W. Scott McLucas Studio Theatre. CRACKSKULL ROW will now run through March 26, 2017.

Nancy Manocherian's the cell presents the World Premiere of SHOES & BAGGAGE, a one-woman musical about the 'high of the buy.' It is written and performed by Broadway veteran Cheryl Stern (La Cage Aux Folles, The Women) with music by Drama Desk nominee Tom Kochan (Almost, Maine). Directed by Joe Barros, previews begin tonight, May 5, at the cell with opening slated for Thursday, May 12. This limited engagement is produced on an Off-Broadway contract.
