Gabrielle's Angel Foundation for Cancer Research hosted its signature fundraiser, the Angel Ball, on Tuesday, October 29th at Cipriani Wall Street. The black-tie benefit, hosted by Grammy-nominated song writer Denise Rich featured a cocktail reception, dinner, live musical performances, a paddle raise and both live and online auctions raising nearly $3 million for the Foundation's research initiatives. This year's gala honored three individuals for their outstanding philanthropic contributions to cancer research. Supermodel Karolina Kurkova presented Simon de Pury, Chairman, de Pury de Pury with an award for his dedication to raising much needed funds for cancer research. Hugh Jackman along with his wife Deborra-lee Furness honored Deborra-lee's mother, Fay Duncan, President of the Fight Cancer Foundation in Australia and Ethan Zohn took the stage to talk about how research and the work of Clay B. On November 1, 2013, The New York Pops continues its 31st season in a return to the days when big bands ruled the dance floor with Tony Award nominee Montego Glover and Dave Bennett, clarinet, guest artists, joining the orchestra in an all-swing program, featuring a tribute to the 75th anniversary of Benny Goodman's legendary live recording at Carnegie Hall. Starry-Eyed: 16 Stories that Steal the Spotlight a performing arts anthology edited by author Ted Michael and talent agent Josh Pultz, was released today, October 8th, from Running Press Kids. No light is as unforgiving as the spotlight, but to be in it while being a teenager is just plain brutal. This collection of fictional short stories by some of today's hottest young adult authors highlight the struggles, hopes, failures, and triumphs of young aspiring singers, dancers, actors, actresses, and performers. Woven throughout the anthology are personal anecdotes from several of today's most celebrated stars of stage, screen, and television.

Tonight, October 4, 2013, The New York Pops orchestra will launch its 31st Season at Carnegie Hall with An Evening with Chris Botti. Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke will lead the orchestra in a highly-anticipated opening with America's largest-selling instrumental artist, trumpeter Chris Botti. The performance will include selections such as Chopin's 'Prelude in C Minor,' 'Emmanuel,' and 'When I Fall in Love' from his recent Grammy Award-winning album Impressions, as well as other popular favorites, at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage.

TVLine reports exclusively that Montego Glover will appear in a recurring role on the new FOX drama series THE FOLLOWING. According to the report, she will portray FBI analyst 'Lawrence.'

On Friday, November 1 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, The New York Pops under the direction of Music DirectorSteven Reineke is joined by Tony Award nominee Montego Glover and clarinetist Dave Bennett for Sing Sing Swing, an all-swing music program that harkens back to the era when big bands ruled the dance floor. The program also pays tribute to the 75th anniversary of Benny Goodman's storied debut at Carnegie Hall with his jazz orchestra. The concert, which took place on January 16, 1938, helped to elevate the status of swing music in the US and beyond, and included some of the brightest jazz luminaries of the day, including Count Basie and members of the Duke Ellington orchestra. The recording of Goodman's performance at Carnegie Hall remains one of the best-selling jazz albums of all time.

The National High School Musical Theater Awards (NHSMTA) selected 62 finalists from tens of thousands of students to compete for the coveted Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actor and Best Performance by an Actress, last night at the Minskoff Theatre. Hosted by the Tony Award-nominated stars of Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA, Laura Osnes and Santino Fontana, the fifth annual performance showcase featured dynamic ensemble and solo performances exclusively from the musical theater cannon. Sarah Lynn Marion, from Fullerton, CA and Taylor Varga, from Newtown, CT took home the big awards for the evening and you can check out photos from inside the event below!
