As we OFFICIALLY come to the beginning of summer, our live performance venues and theatres here on the California Central Coast are ready, willing and able to offer you an afternoon or evening's worth of entertainment that will satisfy most every taste and budget!

As we come to the middle of June (already?!), a number of our theatre and live entertainment venues have shows opening, or gearing up to do so, here on the beautiful California Central Coast!

LA MIRADA THEATRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS & MC COY RIGBY ENTERTAINMENT are thrilled to announce that Caroline Aaron will star as Marjorie Taub opposite Marilu Henner who will star as Lee Green in Charles Busch's hilarious Broadway hit, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, opening October 1 at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, 14900 La Mirada Blvd in La Mirada.

Talking to AOL's 'the Boot' before performing at the CMA Music Fest, Reba McEntire chatted about the recent reading of 'The Unsinkable Molly Brown' for which she has been reportedly courted. The site reports that 'Reba has been to New York City for a reading of the new script and hear some of the new music written for the proposed musical. 'It's very appealing to me,' she admits. 'The production is a long way from being ready so we'll have to wait and see what happens when it is finished.'

As we move beyond the 66th Anniversary of D-Day, giving thanks for those who gave their lives so that we might enjoy the many rights and freedoms we so often take for granted, we also give thanks to the performing artists here on the California Central Coast who toil long and hard so that we might enjoy an afternoon or evening of quality live entertainment!

Actor/singer Gary Henderson passed away on Tuesday, June 1st, 2010. Born in Kansas City, Mo., Gary graduated from Southwest Mo. University in 1972. Gary performed in 'The Unsinkable Molly Brown' with Karen Morrow at the Kansas City Starlight and then did a 1983 summer tour of 'High Button Shoes' with Gavin McLeod, including a week at the St. Louis Muny.

Michael Riedel is reporting in today's The New York Post that Craig Bierko and Sutton Foster starred in a reading presentation of THE UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN for Reba McEntire who is considering taking on the role on Broadway next season. The reading was directed by Kathleen Marshall.

The Garden Theatre is pleased to present Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor® Dreamcoat, running April 23-May 16, 2010, at the Garden Theatre (160 West Plant Street, Historic Downtown Winter Garden). Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor® Dreamcoat is the Garden Theatre's first self-produced theatrical performance.

The Tony Awards Nominations were announced this morning on Tuesday, May 4th.
