Goodman Theatre is proud to present the world premiere of Brett C. Leonard's The Long Red Road directed by Philip Seymour Hoffman, February 13 - March 14, 2010 in the Goodman's 400-seat flexible Owen Bruner Theatre.

To celebrate The Second City's 50th Anniversary, the legendary comedy theatre will host a weekend of performances, panel discussions and screenings at its intimate theatres on Wells Street and in The Piper's Alley Complex in Chicago on Friday, December 11th through Sunday, December 13th. The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) announced early casting for the 2010 Shakespeare in the Park summer season. Daniel Sullivan will direct THE MERCHANT OF VENICE in rotating rep with THE WINTER'S TALE, directed by Michael Greif. The repertory company will feature Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Solanio/Young Shepherd); Jesse L. Martin (Gratiano/Polixenes); Al Pacino (Shylock); Lily Rabe (Portia/First Gentlewoman); Ruben Santiago-Hudson as (Prince of Morocco/Leontes); and Max Wright (Old Gobbo/Old Shepherd).

RACE, the new play written and directed by David Mamet, is proud to announce its award winning design team: set designer Santo Loquasto, lighting designer Brian MacDevitt and costume designer Tom Broecker.

It is not typecasting: James Spader just has an affinity for playing the ruthless characters, according to the New York Times. And, the role of the slick lawyer, Jack Lawson, in David Mamet's RACE, Spader is right up Spader's alley, after having played several sleazy film roles, including Steff in Pretty In Pink and protagonist roles in Sex, Lies and Video Tape, Crash, and The Secretary. His latest endeavor, starring as yet another slime ball on 'Boston Legal', a role which won him three Emmys.

As previously reported, Michael Feinstein and Dame Edna have decided to collaborate on their upcoming show efforts and will jointly star in All About Me. The New York Times has reported today that All About Me shall run at the Golden Theater. Previews will begin on February 19 with an official opening night of March 18.

PETER GALLAGHER, DON'T GIVE UP ON ME is a new musical play by stage and screen star Peter Gallagher. Featuring great American song selections from 'Pal Joey,' 'Guys and Dolls,' and songs by Cy Coleman, Bart Howard, Lyle Lovett, Leon Russell, Burt Bacharach, Dan Penn and others, this new musical play is the story of an actor's apprenticeships with the legends he admires: James Cagney, Jack Lemmon, Peter O'Toole, Stubby Kaye and more and the journey he takes with them.

TINY KUSHNER makes West Coast premiere at Berkeley Rep, begins previews on October 16, opens October 21, and closes November 29.

Arizona Theatre Company presents George Is Dead, a new comedy by acclaimed writer and director Elaine May.

Cirque du Soleil executives have revealed the name of its highly anticipated new production tribute to the life and music of Elvis Presley: Viva ELVIS. The show will be directed by choreographer Vincent Paterson, and will run at the new ARIA Resort & Casino at CityCenter in Las Vegas. Performances begin on December 18.

The Common Air, written by Alex Lyras and Robert McCaskill, features Alex Lyras portraying 6 diverse characters caught in an airport delay. The comedy, with an original score and sound design composed by Ken Rich, opens FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 6th at 8 PM at 45 Bleecker Street Theatre and plays every Friday at 8 pm through December 18th (with an additional performance on Wednesday, December 30 at 8 PM).
