Goodspeed Musicals has announced that Goodspeed veteran David Engel will return to East Haddam to join the cast of the current production Carnival! in the role of Marco the Magnificent Mr. Engel will replace Mike McGowan who will be joining the Toronto production of Priscilla Queen of the Desert the Musical prior to its move to Broadway in Spring 2011.

Starring in the title role is New York actor Stanley Bahorek, who's performed in the national tour of Big River and on Broadway in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre continues their love and celebration of Leonard Bernstein with his seldom produced "Candide". And while the show suffered from a few opening night pacing problems, it managed to take a very difficult to produce piece and turn it into an absolute gem!

On Sunday, May 2, Crash Landing Theater presents the return of CRIP SLAM--a collection of short plays by 8 disabled writers and one token walkie. Nine selected Chicago writers have just a few days to write a five-minute scene in response to a challenging prompt. The writers cast the scenes from a pool of actors who have less than an hour to rehearse. No directors involved.
