The Ogunquit Playhouse is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert F. Levinstein to the new position of Associate Producer. Robert has been associated with the Playhouse since 2002, first as the resident Production Stage Manager and then starting in 2008 as the Director of Production. As Associate Producer, Robert will oversee all theatrical operations for the 78-year-old company, named by the press as America's Foremost Summer Theatre. (more...)

Garver to Appear in 'Santa's Dog'

Actress Kathy Garver-best known for playing the older sister, Cissy, on the classic CBS sitcom 'Family Affair'- has been signed to co-star in the Christmas movie 'Santa's Dog,' scheduled for production this fall in San Francisco. In the film, Garver will play Sister Augustus, a nun at an orphanage where a boy named Max is about to face the loneliest Christmas of his life, until he meets a talking dog and embarks on a magical, comical adventure to show he's worthy of being removed from Santa's 'naughty' list and placed on the 'nice' list instead. Al Pacino Awarded OSC's Oxford Prize

The Tribeca-based Oxford Shakespeare Company recently awarded veteran actor Al Pacino with The Oxford Prize, given in honor of the actor's outstanding artistic achievements in bringing Shakespeare to the public. Mr. Pacino received this honor at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park where he was performing Shylock in The Public Theater's production of THE MERCHANT OF VENICE. Pacino's highly-acclaimed performance and the critically acclaimed production is now bound for a Broadway run at the Broadhurst Theatre Oct 19 - Jan 9. (more...)

He made a pact with God that he would be the vessel through which God's music would spring. All was good until Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart arrives in Vienna. 'I murdered Mozart!' rings out across Europe from Composer Antonio Salieri on his death-bed. Salieri had been the toast of Europe. He had been a devout Catholic all his life. He made a pact with God that he would be the vessel through which God's music would spring. All was good until Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart arrives in Vienna. In horror Salieri determines that it is Mozart instead who is his God's chosen voice. Mozart's music proves it; God had broken their pact. Salieri now makes a terrible new vow: to block God on earth and teach Him a lesson, using Mozart as the means to that end. (more...)
