On Sunday, November 6, stage and screen producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron were honored at the Eighth Annual New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) Gala by some of their most famed stars including Daniel Radcliffe - of the pair's hit revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying - and the company of the upcoming NBC series Smash, including Debra Messing, Angelica Houston, Megan Hilty, Christian Borle, Jack Davenport, Raza Jaffrey, Michael Mayer, Theresa Rebeck and more.

The show, which is about a group of people who come together to put on a Broadway musical was developed by NBC's Robert Greenblatt, Steven Spielberg, and Broadway producing team Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. Broadway's Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman (HAIRSPRAY, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN), wrote the music for the show. Michael Mayer directed the project, and playwright Theresa Rebeck penned the script. Daniel Radcliffe and the stars of Smash were on hand last night, November 6, at the Eighth Annual New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) gala to honor Neil Meron and Craig Zadan for their work in bringing musical theatre to a worldwide, pop-culture audience. Meron and Zadan are represented on Broadway with How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying and are currently producing the new NBC television drama Smash about the behind-the-scenes creation of a Broadway musical. The 15th Annual Hollywood Film Festival and Hollywood Film Awards, presented by Starz Entertainment, have announced that the cast of DreamWorks Pictures and Participant Media's 'The Help' - Jessica Chastain, Viola Davis, Bryce Dallas Howard, Allison Janney, Chris Lowell, Ahna O'Reilly, Octavia Spencer, Emma Stone, Sissy Spacek, Mary Steenburgen, Cicely Tyson and Mike Vogel - will be recognized at the Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony with the 'Hollywood Ensemble Acting Award.'

The national tour of AMERICAN IDIOT kicks off in Toronto, ON at the Toronto Centre for the Arts presented by Dancap Productions Inc, and venues for the tour include: The Opera House in Detroit, MI; Opera House in Boston, MA; Memorial Auditorium in Raleigh, NC; Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis, MN; Eisenhower Auditorium in State College, PA; Peabody Opera House in St. Louis, MO; Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, CA; Gammage Auditorium in Tempe, AZ; AT&T PAC in Dallas, TX; Segerstrom Center in Costa Mesa, CA; Paramount Theatre in Seattle, WA. According to the Toronto Star, the tour will feature Jake Epstein as Will and Talia Aaron and Gabriel Antonacci in the ensemble.

Based on Green Day's groundbreaking rock opera American Idiot, Billie Joe Armstrong and the band collaborated with one of the theatre's most acclaimed creative teams, led by the Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer, to bring the album to the stage. The team will once again bring AMERICAN IDIOT to audiences - this time in movie theaters, aiming for a 2013 premiere under Tom Hanks' Playtone Productions.

Trevor Nunn's production of James Goldman's The Lion in Winter, produced by the Theatre Royal Haymarket Company, runs from 5 November 2011 - 28 January 2012, with press night on 15 November 2011. Roundabout Theatre Company is presenting three-time Tony Award winner Frank Langella as 'Gregor Antonescu' in Terence Rattigan's drama Man and Boy, directed by Maria Aitken. Man and Boy began previews on September 9th and opened officially last night, October 9th, 2011 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway. This is a limited engagement through November 27, 2011.
