Baltimore's Rabbi Menachem Youlus spun fantastical tales about his recovery of 1,000 Torahs. From the 'Auschwitz' Torah, which Rabbi Youlous 'located' using a metal detector in a prewar Auschwitz cemetery, to 'purchasing' a Torah from a former Auschwitz prison guard, Rabbi Youlous convinced many that he was the 'Jewish Indiana Jones.' People swarmed to purchase these 'unique' Torahs, unknowingly buying scrolls that actually had the same story...

A consortium of local dance advocates, launching an inquiry into the history of theatrical dance in Chicago, will feature tap dance in its first public event. Tap artists Reggio 'The Hoofer' McLaughlin, Mark Yonally, and Starinah 'Star' Dixon will engage in dialogue with Chicago Dance History Project Director Jenai Cutcher West about Chicago's distinct histories, personalities, and styles of tap dance.

Saturday, January 31 marked the 42nd Annual Annie Awards recognizing the year's best in animation. The black tie event kicked off at 5 p.m. with Red Carpet arrivals and a VIP champagne reception, followed by the awards ceremony at 7 p.m. and after-party immediately following the show. The sordid tale of Leopold and Loeb is the subject of NEVER THE SINNER now receiving a strong production at 1st Stage in Tysons. Directed by Jeremy Skidmore, the play is carefully crafted and is a winning blend of theatrical bravura, sexual tension, calculating criminals, and period flair. Stephen Russell Murray and Alex Mandell also give tour-de-force performances.
