On the Square Productions presents Steven Bost's original piece THE MINERVAE this July in Athens Square Park in Astoria. This new production is part of OtSP's Astoria Free Theatre Project and will be presented to the public for free at all performances. The production will be directed by Stephen Kaliski. Creative team and cast will be announced in the coming weeks.

Earlier this morning, stage and screen stars Kristin Chenoweth & Jim Parsons announced this year's Tony nominees from the New York Public Library. In a season as rich as this past theatrical season though, there are only so many spots for nominees and some very talented shows and performers were not nominated. Below are the eligible performers and shows who were not nominatined in the major categories.

Performance Network Theatre presents "Red," the six-time Tony Award-winning drama by John Logan. "Red" officially opens tonight, April 27, and runs through May 27, 2012. MASTERWORKS BROADWAY has announced details of the release of the complete New Broadway Cast Recording of Evita, the first complete English language stage recording of the show since the original 1979 Broadway cast album. The two-CD set, produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Nigel Wright, with Tim Rice as Executive Producer, will be released on June 26, 2012. In every previous Broadway production of Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire, a white Blanche DuBois has complained that her sister Stella's white husband Stanley has “something downright bestial about him.”  She refers to him as “sub-human” and “ape-like.”  And depending on her co-star's performance, audience members might have agreed with her to some extent.

Ricky Martin, currently starring in the new revival of EVITA, will host a fundraising event on May 14th to support the re-election of President Barack Obama. Univision's Primer Impacto announced that Martin will host the event alongside the LGBT Leadership Council and the Futuro Fund.

Spanish conductor Rafael Fruhbeck de Burgos returns to the New York Philharmonic to conduct music from two secular cantatas: selections from Falla's Atlantida, and Orff's complete Carmina burana - which the Orchestra has not performed since 1995 - Thursday, May 31, 2012, at 7:30 p.m., Friday, June 1, at 8:00 p.m., and Saturday, June 2, at 8:00 p.m. The international cast that Mr. Fru?hbeck has assembled for these performances features American soprano Erin Morley, American tenor Nicholas Phan (in his Philharmonic debut), South African baritone Jacques Imbrailo (debut), the Spanish chorus Orpheo?n Pamplone?s, Igor Ijurra Ferna?ndez, director (debut), and the Brooklyn Youth Chorus, Dianne Berkun, director.

Michael Attenborough, Artistic Director of the Almeida Theatre will be presented with the Award for Excellence In International Theatre at a luncheon held today, 17 April 2012, at the Travellers Club, London. Neville Shulman, Director of the British Centre of the International Theatre Institute, will present Attenborough with the Award.

The cast of EVITA, including Ricky Martin, Michael Cerveris and Elena Roger performed 'Buenos Aires' and 'High Flying Adored' on this morning's 'Good Morning America'. Directed by Tony and Olivier Award-winner Michael Grandage and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Rob Ashford, EVITA opened April 5, 2012 at The Marquis Theatre.

MASTERWORKS BROADWAY has just announced the signing of the New Broadway Cast Recording of Evita. The album will be recorded in April in anticipation of a June 19th 2012 release and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.com.

We're live in London for this year's Olivier Awards!

Dame Judi Dench has signed up to act in the West End once more this fall in a new play by John Logan. British actor Ben Whishaw is also slated for the cast, while Michael Grandage will direct. The show will move to Broadway if it is successful enough in London, according to today's New York Post.

Ricky Martin, Elena Roger, Michael Cerveris and the cast of EVITA will perform two numbers from the show and discuss the highly-anticipated return of Andrew Lloyd Webber & Tim Rice's iconic musical on GOOD MORNING AMERICA on THURSDAY, APRIL 12 from 8:30-9:00 a.m. on ABC, live from Times Square.
