Rehearsals now underway for the new Broadway production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's legendary seven-time Tony Award-winning musical, EVITA,.The musical stars Olivier Award-winning Argentinean actress Elena Roger making her Broadway debut as Eva Peron, world renowned music artist Ricky Martin as Che and Tony Award-winner Michael Cerveris as Juan Peron. The cast will also feature Christina DeCicco as the alternate for Eva Peron (Weds eve; Sat mat), Max von Essen as Magaldi and Rachel Potter as the Mistress. Directed by Tony and Olivier Award-winner Michael Grandage and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Rob Ashford, EVITA begins previews on March 12 and Opening Night is set for April 5, 2012. Multi award-winning stage directors Michael Grandage CBE and Mark Brokaw will participate in a special program and reception on Monday, February 13, 6 to 8 PM, co-hosted by The BritArts Committee of The St. George's Society of New York and the Drama Desk at the Morgan Stanley Smith Barney Center, 31 West 52nd Street, in Manhattan. There will be introductions by Drama Desk Board Member Elysa Gardner, Theatre Critic for USA Today, and Gavin Henderson CBE, Principal, Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney is the event sponsor.

Tom Bateman, Mark Bonnar, Harry Lloyd and Finbar Lynch join Eve Best in John Webster's great Jacobean tragedy, The Duchess of Malfi, directed by Jamie Lloyd. Eve Best last appeared at The Old Vic in London and on Broadway opposite Kevin Spacey in A Moon for the Misbegotten in the 2006/2007 Season. The Duchess of Malfi will open at The Old Vic on 28 March 2012, previewing from 17 March.

The Metropolitan Opera premiere of Donizetti's Anna Bolena, starring soprano Anna Netrebko in her highly anticipated first North American performances of the tour-de-force title role, will be the 2012 season opener of THIRTEEN's Great Performances at the Met Friday, January 20 at 9 p.m. ET on PBS (check local listings).

The 2012 Orange British Academy Film Awards nominations were announced by Daniel Radcliffe and Holliday Grainger at BAFTA's headquarters in London. The Orange British Academy Film Awards take place on Sunday, February 12th at the Royal Opera House at Covent Garden, London. This is the fifteenth year of Orange's sponsorship of the Film Awards. The ceremony will be hosted by Stephen Fry.

Music superstar RickyMartin will soon star as Che alongside Elena Roger and Michael Cerveris in the upcoming Broadway revival of EVITA, ans Martin revealed to V Magazine that he's excited to take on the character. Martin told V: 'Che is a really cool character and you can do so much with him. The director said, 'I don't want you to just be Che Guevara. Let's take it to another level. One night you can be him, but the next night I want you to be the taxi driver, the next evening the bartender. Literally, be the voice of the people.' So I won't get bored, that's for sure.'
