Wichita's theatre community has been buzzing with the hype of August: Osage County by Tracy Letts. The regional premiere of the 2008 Pulitzer Prize winning play is taking place at Wichita Community Theatre January 29th through February 15th. A multi-generational ensemble of some of Wichita's finest actors gave an opportunity for many actors and technicians to stretch their limits and challenge themselves, in a way only a magnificent script can.

The critically acclaimed New York, Off-Broadway hit musical Inside Out will celebrate its 20-year anniversary at the Grove Theatre Center in Burbank, CA February 12th - March 22nd, it was announced today by Kritzerland Entertainment and PlayWorks Music. Veteran TV/Film/Theatre/Actor/ Author/Performer/Playwright and CEO of Kritzerland Records Bruce Kimmel has been set to direct the musical by Doug Haverty (book and lyrics) and Adryan Russ (lyrics and music). An all-star female ensemble/cast of six features Sandy Bainum, Cynthia Ferrer, Stephanie Fredricks, Dana Meller, Leslie Stevens and Adrienne Visnic. Preview performances are February 12th and 13th with the show's official opening scheduled for February 14th.

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) has just announced that film star Amanda Seyfried (Les Miserables, Dear John, Mamma Mia!, upcoming Ted 2 and Pan) will make her off- Broadway debut opposite Thomas Sadoski (The Newsroom, Wild, upcoming in NBC's The Slap) in the upcoming world premiere production of NEIL LaBUTE's drama, THE WAY WE GET BY. Directed by Tony nominee LEIGH SILVERMAN, the production will begin previews on April 28, 2015 and officially open on May 20, 2015 at Second Stage Theatre, 305 West 43rd Street.

The national tour of MAMMA MIA! will appear at the Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside, CA on February 4th and 5th. The rollicking musical was written by Catherine Johnson, with music by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, former ABBA members who based the show's songs on the group's hits.
Studio 8 & Bona Partner with Tristar on Ang Lee's BILLY LYNN'S LONG HALFTIME WALK

Jeff Robinov's Fosun-backed Studio 8, together with Chinese distribution company Bona Film Group, will partner with Tom Rothman's TriStar and Film4 on the adaptation of Ben Fountain's acclaimed novel Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk, to be directed by three-time Oscar-winner Ang Lee. The deal brings together several members of the family of companies at Sony Pictures, which will distribute the film worldwide, except for Greater China, which Bona Film Group Ltd will handle. Film 4 will have UK free television.
