TNC to Host Night of Two Plays Based on Kanafani Short Stories

Jennifer Schwartz is the new Managing Director for PCPA as of January 2016. Schwartz comes to PCPA having worked for over 15 years as a non-profit arts manager. She was the Finance and Administration Director at the San Jose Repertory Theatre, held finance positions at SFJAZZ, The San Francisco Film Society and The Paul Dresher Ensemble, and was the Associate Managing Director at the Yale Repertory Theatre where she produced The Special Events Series that included artists Don Byron, Meredith Monk and Guillermo Gomez-Pena. She also has worked in Los Angeles for New Line Cinema and Paramount Pictures and as a consultant for Bay Area non-profits including The Magnes Museum, Southern Exposure, Prison Law Office, Glide Community Housing, Root Division, We Care, World Savvy and Youth Speaks.

The Western Wind, the internationally acclaimed vocal sextet devoted to a capella music, celebrates its 47th anniversary with a gala concert on March 12, 2016, honoring their co-founder, co-director, and baritone, Elliot Z. Levine. Levine plans to leave the ensemble in August 2016 after nearly 47 years.  The program entitled We Thank You ... A Concert Honoring Elliot Z. Levine, will take place 8pm, at the Merkin Concert Hall, Kaufman Music Center, 129 West 67th Street, New York City. It will feature compositions and arrangements by Levine as well as his favorite selections from each of his four decades with the ensemble.

New York Live Arts recently announced the artists selected for the 2015-2016 Fresh Tracks Performance and Residency Program. The 2015-2016 Fresh Tracks artists are Melanie Greene, Sarah Lifson, Eli Tamondong, EmmaGrace Skove-Epes and Jonathan Gonzalez, and Georgia Wall and Itamar Segev. Public Theater Announces Cast of THE GABRIELS Three-Play Cycle

The Public Theater announced complete casting today for the world premiere three-play cycle THE GABRIELS: Election Year in the Life of One Family, written and directed by Richard Nelson. Featuring the same core acting company for all three productions, Play One: HUNGRY, will begin previews on Saturday, February 27 and run through, Sunday, March 20, with an official press opening on Friday, March 4, 2016. The second play, WHAT DID YOU EXPECT?, will premiere in September and the final play in the new cycle, WOMEN OF A CERTAIN AGE, will open on election night, November 8, 2016.
