MCC's THE LEGEND OF GEORGIA MCBRIDE, Starring Dave Thomas Brown, Opens Tonight

Dave Thomas Brown, recently of Heathers: The Musical at New World Stages, leads a cast that also includes Wayne Duvall (O Brother Where Art Thou?, Leatherheads), Matt McGrath (Cabaret, Hedwig and the Angry Inch), Keith Nobbs (Lombardi, 'The Black Donnellys') and Afton C. Williamson ('Nashville,' 'Homeland'), in Matthew Lopez's THE LEGEND OF GEORGIA MCBRIDE, the first production of MCC's 2015-16 Main Stage Season. THE LEGEND OF GEORGIA MCBRIDE begins previews tonight, August 20, 2015 ahead of a September 9, 2015 opening night.

Undermain Theatre to Premiere THE DROLL as 32nd Season Opener This Fall

To open its 32nd season the Undermain Theatre is thrilled to bring the World Premiere of Meg Miroshnik's THE DROLL to their home in Deep Ellum at 3200 Main Street. The premiere will open on Saturday, September 26th, 2015 - curtain time 8:15 with the playwright in attendance. Preview performances will be on Sep. 23rd, 24th and 25th. The production will run through October 17th.

Shuler Hensley & More Set for Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival's Reading Series

The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival's popular reading series, HVSF2, curated by Christine Scarfuto, will highlight the work of some of America's most celebrated playwrights. Members of the HVSF acting company will be featured in the readings along with several renowned stage and film actors. Readings will take place at The Depot Theatre in Garrison on August 5, 7, 12, and 20. All Readings begin at 7:30pm. Eisa Davis, Gabriel Ebert, Nikki M. James, Joseph Keckler, Chris Sarandon, and Or Matias, on piano, lead LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater production of PRELUDES, a new musical by Dave Malloy, inspired by the music of Sergei Rachmaninov, developed with and directed by Rachel Chavkin. PRELUDES, a world premiere and the first musical to be produced by LCT3 in the Claire Tow Theater, began performances on May 23 and opens tonight, June 15, running through Sunday, July 19 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65th Street).

Playwrights' Center Names New Core Writers, 2015-16 Many Voices Fellows

?The Playwrights' Center has introduced eight new Core Writers, as well as the 2015-16 Many Voices Fellows, Many Voices Mentees, and Core Apprentices. These writers will join the continuing Core Writers and the previously announced 2015-16 Jerome Fellows, McKnight Fellows in Playwriting, and McKnight National Residency and Commission recipient as the Center's season of playwrights. McKnight Theater Artist Fellows will be announced in June.

Luna Stage has announced its 2015 - 2016 season. The renowned company's 23rd season includes the East Coast Premiere of The Tall Girls by Meg Miroshnik,  the New Jersey Professional Premiere of Thrill Me: The Leopold & Loeb Story, a musical by Stephen Dolginoff, a revival of the critically acclaimed play, The Brothers Size by Tarell Alvin McCraney, and the World Premiere of Old Love New Love by Laura Brienza.

WAM Theatre has announced the cast for their reading of The Tall Girls by Meg Miroshnik, the next event in the 2015 Fresh Takes Play Reading Series. The first Fresh Takes reading of 2015 sold out last month, as did all five of the readings in 2014 inaugural season, proving Berkshire audiences embrace contemporary plays written by women and focusing on the unique stories of women and girls.
