Ten years ago, as a reaction to over-amplification of musicals, Scott Siegel had the crazy idea that there might be an audience for a concert of Broadway show tunes performed the way they used to be sung: without microphones. And Scott had the perfect place to try out his theory, the acoustically wonderful Town Hall on West 43rd St. With no money, but the support of a great many singers who wanted, literally, to be heard in a way that was no longer possible on Broadway, he launched the first Broadway Unplugged, boasting 'Sound Design by God.' 'Submissions Only,' the popular web series which aired its second season on BroadwayWorld.com to much acclaim, and major growth, will soon launch its highly anticipated third season. Season Three is 'coming soon,' and will be comprised of eight episodes. The star-studded season will boast such guest stars as Audra McDonald, Kelli O'Hara, Will Swenson, Malcolm Getz, Joanna Gleason, and many more. Raging Squid Ink and Eric Schmalenberger have announced the Raging Squid Ink and Eric Schmalenberger have announced the world premiere production of Jake Thomas' THE DEAD DREAM MACHINE, video art directed by Sean Gill and directed and choreographed by Rachel Klein. THE DEAD DREAM MACHINE will play a limited engagement at La Luz (135 Thames Street, Brooklyn, NY). Performances begin tonight, September 18 and continue through Saturday, October 13. Opening Night is Friday, September 20 (8 p.m.).
