ACME, the American Contemporary Music Ensemble performs tonight, April 18 at 7:30pm. presented by The Morgan Library and Museum (225 Madison Avenue) and the Polish Cultural Institute New York. ACME pays homage to the late, largely unsung Polish composer Mieczys?aw Weinberg with an elegiac chamber music program that includes his exquisite Piano Quintet Op. 18, plus Dmitri Shostakovich's Piano Trio No. 2 in E minor, Op. 67 and selections from Henryk Gorecki's String Quartet No. 3.

Not only the Girl with a Pearl Earring, the International Court of Justice, the Royal Family, and the best herring sandwich in the world, but most important to dance lovers, The Hague is home to one of the world's most celebrated dance companies, Nederlands Dans Theater. New York audiences will get a chance to witness firsthand the much-storied and spectacular 30-member contemporary dance troupe-in New York for the first time in nearly a decade-when it performs at The David H. Koch Theater, April 11 and 12, and as part of the The Joyce Theater Gala tonight, April 10. In all, the company will present three New York premieres, each a collaboration between NDT's new Artistic Director Paul Lightfoot and its Resident Choreographer Sol Leon.

Luna Negra Dance Theater, Chicago's only contemporary dance company devoted to the Latino choreographic voice, presents "Made in Spain," its 2013 spring program featuring work by two contemporary Spanish choreographers: guest artist Fernando Hernando Magadan and Luna Negra company member Monica Cervantes. Luna Negra presents "Made in Spain" in one performance only at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, 205 E. Randolph Drive, Saturday, March 9 at 8 pm.

Coral: Rekindling Venus, a video installation created by Australian artist Lynette Wallworth that immerses viewers in the stunning underwater realm of fluorescent coral reefs and exotic sea creatures, returns by popular demand to the American Museum of Natural History on January 22-24 in collaboration with the Sundance Film Festival. As part of this limited engagement, Walworth will participate in a Q&A via Skype from Park City, Utah after the evening screening on Wednesday, January 23. Coral: Rekindling Venus is a selection of the Sundance Film Festival's New Frontier program, which showcases films, media installations, multimedia performances, and panel discussions that explore the convergence of film, art, new media technology, and storytelling.

The Houston Ballet organization is imbued with talent from top to bottom. Last year, they organized an event in which the dancers got to experiment and begin growing their own individual choreographic voices. Thursday, December 13, 2012 was their second event with this goal in mind.
