Mine Entertainment Group has announced a one-night only benefit performance of the one-act play, "Katrina Who?!" taking place on Wednesday, September 19 (8PM) at The Zephyr Theatre in West Hollywood. Written and directed by Melanie Maria Goodreaux, "Katrina Who?!" honors the seventh anniversary of Hurricane Katrina through the personal stories of five NOLA residents who recount the destruction, devastation, survival and triumph in the aftermath of the deadliest and most destructive hurricane of 2005.

Before a grade-school backdrop depicting heathery hills, a pair of confused theatre-goers struggle with an outdated map of Broadway while an offstage chorus sings, “Brink of doom, Brink of do-om,” and before you can say “Come ye to the spoof,” the cast of Forbidden Broadway: Alive and Kicking is promising that, “Just like Jesus and Judy Garland, we're resurrected again.”

After a three-year absence, Gerard Alessandrini's Forbidden Broadway returns to the 47th Street Theatre with a brand new edition, Forbidden Broadway: ALIVE AND KICKING. The show, which opens tonight, September 6, will run for a limited engagement through January 6, 2013. This production will mark Forbidden Broadway's 30th Anniversary, as well as its 21st edition.

When The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre's fall production of the classic Broadway musical The Music Man opens tonight, September 7th, it will bring together a cast of old friends and new faces. The Music Man boasts the largest cast Way Off Broadway has ever had on its stage for a single production - half of which are making their Way Off Broadway debut!

Meredith Willson's The Music Man will play the Frederick City venue beginning tonight, September 7th.

The Original Broadway Cast Recording for the Tony-winning new musical comedy NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT will be available for digital download on Tuesday, September 25 and on CD Tuesday, October 30th. Today we are focusing a super-special spotlight on one of the Fall's most intriguing musical entries trying out in New York, the York Theatre Company's lab mounting of the new Paul Jabara jukebox musical LAST DANCE, by talking to the show's lead, recognizable TV and film star Rob Morrow, and the show's lead producer, noted comedic shepherd and filmmaker Robert D. Wachs, whom filled me in on all aspects of the show in a comprehensive chat late last week just prior to this week's start of rehearsals. In this all-encompassing conversation, Morrow, Wachs and I discuss the genesis of the new disco-themed musical celebrating the life and career of Jabara, the accomplished Emmy, Grammy and Academy Award-winning composer of Broadway shows (RACHAEL LILY ROSENBLOOM… AND DON'T YOU EVER FORGET IT), movie songs ("Last Dance" from THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY; the titular "The Main Event") and numerous pop/rock/disco hits, such as "It's Raining Men" by The Weather Girls, Barbra Streisand and Donna Summer's epic disco duet "Enough Is Enough (No More Tears)" and his many solo hits, as well as the finer points of the story, concept, casting and the ultimate goals of the new Philip William McKinley-directed production, which features a book by Shaun McKenna. Victory Gardens opens its 2012-13 season with the Chicago Premiere of Equivocation, written by Bill Cain and directed by Sean Graney. The production runs September 14 - October 14, 2012 at the Victory Gardens Biograph Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Park. The Press Opening is Monday, September 24, 2012 at 7:30 p.m.

Two-time Emmy Award-winner Sally Struthers returns to the Ogunquit Playhouse for the premiere of Dolly Parton's 9 to 5 the Musical, tonight, August 22 through September 15. 9 to 5, the Musical is based on the hit movie about three office workers who plan to get even with their egotistical, lying and hypocritical boss. When their plan spins wildly out of control the situation becomes hilarious and the laughter is non-stop. The show features the blockbuster title song plus a jubilant score by multiple Grammy Award winner Dolly Parton that mixes Broadway and pop with Dolly's irresistible style. This sharp witty musical adventure is perfect for anyone who ever wanted to string up their boss!

The stars were out this week at 54 Below. Stars ranging from Hollywood's Bradley Cooper and Academy Award nominee Amy Irving to Tony Award winners Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick, David Hyde Pierce, Betty Buckley, John Benjamin Hickey, Ron Rifkin, John Kander, Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman were in attendance for Victor Garber's final performance at the venue on August 20. Sarah RIce, who co-starred opposite Garber' as Johanna in the original Broadway cast of Sweeney Todd, also stopped backstage for a reunion. Earlier in the week, Academy Award nominee Patricia Clarkson and vocalist Tom Postilio came out for Hilary Kole's opening night.

Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, announces the full cast for Neil Simon's The Odd Couple, directed by Artistic Director BJ Jones. The comedy will play at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie, from November 2-December 9, 2012. The Press Opening is Friday, November 9, at 7:30 pm.

The Performing Arts Center of Suffolk County will hold its second annual gala benefit, Dressing for the Night this evening, August 18 at Bellport's Gateway Playhouse. Ken Page leads the all star cast of entertainers for the evening which includes Jennifer Hope Wills, Ed Staudenmayer, Erica Aubrey and Jamie Jackson.

The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis (The Rep) presents Brighton Beach Memoirs by Neil Simon and directed by Steven Woolf. Matthew Broderick will appear in a benefit performance for New York City's South Street Seaport Museum on Monday, October 15 at 7:30 pm. The 'Celebrating Moby-Dick Benefit' will be an immersive evening of readings and films, starring Broderick as Ishmael, Edward Herrmann as Ahab, and John Douglas Thompson as Father Mapple.
