Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man, a new comedy written by Matt Murphy and Drama Desk Award winner Jim Brochu (Zero Hour, The Big Voice: God or Merman), based on the best-selling book by Dan Anderson and Maggie Berman, will have its world premiere at The 777 Theatre (777 Eighth Avenue, between 47th and 48th Streets). Directed by Tim Drucker (writer/director of Spidermusical, co-book writer for the musical Fat Camp) Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man will begin performances on January 22, 2014. The Flea Theater announces a one night only performance of TRANSATLANTICA by Kenny Finkle, directed by Tim Cummings and featuring original Bat Company Members reprising their roles: Tim Cummings (The Normal Heart, The Fountain Theatre in LA), Greg Keller (NYTW's Belleville, Wit with Cynthia Nixon), Jennifer McKenna, Alfredo Narcisso (The Motherf***er with the Hat), Jack O'Neill (Baal), Beth Tapper and Irene Walsh.

Producer Matt Murphy announced that his family musical The Berenstain Bears LIVE! has recouped its initial investment following its 2nd Anniversary Off-Broadway in New York City. Having entertained nearly 20,000 boys, girls, parents, and grandparents, the musical's official second year anniversary performance featured a celebration on the Bear Country stage with Murphy and the cast. Murphy thanked the cast and creative team for their contributions over the past two years and added, "I am thrilled that the greater New York area has embraced our show and allowed us to continue on a weekend schedule that caters to families. Time and time again, we hear from parents who are so happy to have introduced their children to the wonderful world of theatre with characters they know and love from The Berenstain Bears books. As long as New Yorkers will have us, we will keep bringing the vibrant and colorful world of Bear Country that Stan and Jan Berenstain created more than 50 years ago to life through song and dance Off-Broadway."

American fashion designer Nanette Lepore has been selected for the 2012 Design Series for Vogue Eyewear. The program was created in 2009 by Luxottica in partnership with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) to support American designers and provide them with the opportunity to create a limited edition frame for Vogue Eyewear. As part of the annual initiative, all participants were required to not have any previous eyewear experience. Past CFDA collaborators include Rebecca Minkoff, Monica Botkier, Yeohlee Teng, Devi Kroell, Kara Ross, and Matt Murphy.

One year ago, the Berenstain Bears arrived Off-Broadway with their critically-acclaimed family musical The Berenstain Bears LIVE! Having entertained over 10,000 boys, girls, parents, and grandparents, June 25th marks the musical's official one year anniversary of performing every Saturday and Sunday in NYC.

This weekend the family musical, now in an open-ended run, will pay tribute to the late co-creator of The Berenstain Bears, Jan Berenstain, who passed away last Friday.

This winter Matt Murphy Productions presents its fourth national tour of Virtually Me! (www.virtuallyme.org). Taking place at Wi-Fi High in Anywhere, USA, Virtually Me! is an entirely original, educational musical for today's blogging, emailing, Facebooking, IM'ing, and texting generation. Originally directed by Jeremy Dobrish, this touring production has been remounted by Gina Rattan, and features choreography by Wendy Seyb, music by Jeff Thomson, lyrics by Jordan Mann, and a book by Jeremy Desmon and Jeremy Dobrish.
