The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) and RKO Stage present the world premiere of Carefree: Dancin' with Fred & Ginger, an all-new tribute to American cinema's most iconic pair, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. The feisty and captivating pair of Fred Astaire  and Ginger Rogers still lives on ­- generations after they first danced into the hearts of millions. This Tinseltown twosome continues to inspire legions of movie and dancing buffs due in part to the numerous films in which the virtuoso duo starred. However, fans can enjoy this iconic dancing pair's legacy live thanks to the world premiere of Carefree: Dancin' with Fred & Ginger - a musical tribute co-produced by New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) and RKO Stage.

At the 2016 edition of BROADWAY BACKWARDS, Broadway legend Chita Rivera brought her own brand of 'razzle-dazzle' to Kander and Ebb's 'All I Care About is Love' from CHICAGO. The actress delivered an unforgettable take on swarmy lawyer Billy Flynn, surrounded by a bevy of feathery beauties, many from the original 1996 CHICAGO revival cast, including Nili Bassman, Mindy Cooper, Mamie Duncan-Gibbs, Gabriela Garcia, Mary Ann Lamb, Dana Moore and Solange Sandy. The sold-out audience at Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theatre was dazzled last night, March 21, 2016, by this year's stirring edition of Broadway Backwards. The annual celebration, where men sing songs originally written for women and vice versa offering this audience the chance to see LGBT stories told through the great songs of musical theatre, set a new fundraising record. The evening raised an incredible $480,287 to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center in New York City. This year's BROADWAY BACKWARDS (#broadwaybackwards) took the stage last night at Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street, NYC), home to the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Kinky Boots. The evening is produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and benefits BC/EFA and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center of New York. Tony winner Julie White, a longtime supporter of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, will host this year's 11th edition.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) announced the winners of the 2015 NYMF Awards for Excellence, which were awarded last night, July 27, 2015 at Urbo (11 Times Square). The full list of winners, plus photos from the ceremony, can be found below!

Music Theatre International Chairman and CEO Freddie Gershon and his wife Myrna hosted eight outstanding educators from schools and performing arts centers around the country for four days of classes and activities honoring them for working to make a difference for their students and communities through the process of staging musical theatre productions in their schools and educational theatre groups.  The event known as the 6th Annual FREDDIE G FELLOWSHIP culminated in a gala dinner at Chez Josephine on July 11th.  Joining the festivities were Broadway greats Bernadette Peters and Brian d'Arcy James.
