Tony Award winning musical Grey Gardens, which opened on Broadway in 2006, is a superb creation. Chiefly speaking here about the incarnation at Bay Street Theatre, this is truly a special event for countless reasons. Among them is the fact that the theatre, based in Sag Harbor, is only around 8 miles from the infamous house, so this truly hits home for them. Another of the many reasons is the remarkable cast.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series is proud to announce that songwriter Jonathan Reid Gealt will celebrate the release of his new cd, 'Whatever I Want It To Be,' at Birdland with a bevy of Broadway stars on Sunday, November 29 at 6pm.

The songwriting team of Will Van Dyke and Jeff Talbott is set to release an EP of their songs called A View of the River on Tuesday, September 15, 2015.  They will then follow up the release with a concert of their songs at 54 Below on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 9:30 p.m.  

The Skivvies are back in action! Lauren Molina and Nick Cearley, award-winning NYC actor/musicians doing stripped down versions of eclectic covers and comedic, genre-hopping mashups. Not only are the arrangements stripped down - cello, ukulele, glockenspiel, melodica - but the Skivvies literally strip down to their underwear to perform. It's undie-rock at its finest. Featured in People Magazine's Hottest Bodies Issue as the Most Playful performers, the Wall Street Journal calls them 'highly original...smart...ingenious'.

Tony nominee Howard McGillin, just coming off of GIGI on Broadway, will join Tony winner Betty Buckley and Drama Desk winner Rachel York in Bay Street Theater's summer production of GREY GARDENS, running August 4-30. McGillin will take on the role of George Gould Strong in the musical, which Michael Wilson will direct.  Check out a sneak peek at rehearsals below!

National Alliance for Musical Theatre has announced the line up of new musicals for their 27th ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS, which takes place on Thursday, October 15 and Friday, October 16 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues). Origin Theatre Company kicks off its thirteenth season of producing the New York premieres of plays by contemporary European playwrights at its annual benefit on Thursday June 18, at 6:30pm. Hosted by Mutual of America, 320 Park Avenue, the evening features a smorgasbord of international pleasures, including rollicking musical entertainment, and appearances by a colorful cross-section of local and visiting theatre luminaries, business leaders and supporters of the arts.

THE 69TH ANNUAL TONY AWARDS, aired live from Radio City Music Hall, last night Sunday, June 7 (8:00-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network. After the creemony is when the real fun started though, as most of the evening's celebrity guests headed to the annual Tonys Party at the Carlyle Hotel, hosted by O&M Co.
