SITI Company, the internationally acclaimed ensemble theater, co-founded by famed American director Anne Bogart, showcases directed by SITI Co-Artistic Director Leon Ingulsrud.

The Boston Modern Orchestra Project (BMOP), the nation's premier orchestra dedicated exclusively to commissioning, performing, and recording new orchestral music, kick-starts its 22nd season with an appreciative salute to multi-generational composers and artists who have led and continue to be leading the contemporary music vanguard. Featuring two resolute proponents of new music, guest soloists Conor Hanick (piano) and Matt Haimovitz (cello), the program includes the regional premiere of Matthew Aucoin's first concerto, as well as pieces by William Schuman, David Sanford, and John Harbison.

Diana Vishneva's CONTEXT Festival will celebrate contemporary choreography in Moscow from November 12 15 and in Saint Petersburg November 16 - 19. The festival features a wide range of choreographers, bringing international talents to share the stage with domestic artists. In its fifth year CONTEXT has grown from a three-day festival to an entire week dedicated to dance and movement, becoming a significant platform for gifted up-and-coming choreographers and dancers.

Multi-award-winning and internationally recognised choreographer Yasmeen Godder will premiere her new work Face In this Autumn, commissioned by Candoco Dance Company and performed by their company of disabled and non-disabled dancers. Face In is the final commission from Stine Nilsen and Pedro Machado before they step down as Artistic Co-Directors of Candoco, as announced in January.

Linda Shelton, Executive Director of The Joyce Theater, will welcome back onto its stage Twyla Tharp Dance, under the artistic direction of legendary award-winning choreographer Twyla Tharp, for a special three-week engagement, from September 19 - October 8.

Cal State Fullerton's 2017-2018 season opens with Frankenstein based on the novel by Mary Shelley, adapted by Bruce Goodrich and directed by CSUF Professor Maria Cominis, which runs September 29-October 15, 2017 in the Young Theatre on campus. An electrifying new version of Frankenstein will keep audiences mesmerized by the sheer power of Mary Shelley's 19th century classic.

The Martha Graham Dance Company announces LamVar10: A Festival for New Work, a multiweek program celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Lamentation Variations, short commissioned works inspired by Martha Graham's iconic solo Lamentation.

As part of Japan Society's Fall 2017-Winter 2018 Performing Arts Season, the Society presents the North American premiere of Left-Right-Left, directed and choreographed by Luca Veggetti.

1812 Productions opens its 21st season with Jonathan Tolins' hit comedy Buyer & Cellar. Directed by Dan O'Neil, Buyer & Cellar stars Dito van Reigersberg, best known for his work with Pig Iron Theatre Company and as his alter-ego, cabaret queen Martha Graham Cracker. Buyer & Cellar opens on Wednesday, October 11th at Plays & Players Theatre in Center City. Previews begin October 5th. The production will run through October 29th. Eryc Taylor Dance (ETD) will return to Martha Graham Studio Theater, 55 Bethune Street in NYC for three days this October, with five works shown at each performance including the premiere of Eryc Taylor's new choreographic work, Cycles, commissioned by Douglas Sills of The Sills Foundation.

Artistic Director Jacqulyn Buglisi and Buglisi Dance Theatre are honored to be welcomed back by Lincoln Center for a 7th annual presentation of the transcendent  '9/11 Table of Silence Project,' a public performance tribute to 9/11 and prayer for peace and healing, conceived and choreographed by Jacqulyn Buglisi. 

The Riverside Opera Company (ROC), under the direction of Maestro Alan Aurelia, presents: A Wedding in Song and Dance a performance that includes tri-state area audition winners Soprano Sun Young Chang and Tenor Seunghwan Oh performing excerpts from La Boheme, performances by Dawn Daniels and Dancers performing traditional Irish Jigs and Reels; Lydias School of Dance performing ballets from Aida by Verdi accompanied by pianist Olga Gurevich. Youth performers include Brian Moses on piano, Isabel Bruschi on violin and Kristian Marino on trumpet performing a wide range of pieces including La boheme: Musetta's Waltz, 'Flight of the Bumblebee' and 'Danny boy.

Tap dance company Dorrance Dance, founded by Artistic Director and 2015 MacArthur Fellow Michelle Dorrance, announces New York City performance dates, new works, and tour schedule for the 2017-2018 season. The season will include performances at renowned venues across the United States and in Canada, Germany, and France.

In 1967, the career of Arlo Guthrie, eldest son of America's beloved singer/writer/philosopher Woody Guthrie, exploded with the release of Alice's Restaurant, whose title track helped foster a generation's commitment to social consciousness and activism.
