The Stella Adler Studio of Acting and the Harold Clurman Center for New York in Movement and Dance Theater will honor Alexandra Wells on Thursday, September 30th. The evening will feature performances by Sidra Bell Dance New York, Andrea Miller's Gallim Dance, Austin McCormick's Company XIV and more. Margie Gillis will present the MAD Spirit Award to Alexandra Wells. The event is a part of the Studio's Fifth Annual Harold Clurman Festival, which brings artists and activists together to discuss the relationship between art and social activism and which raises funds for the nonprofit.

Arthur Penn, director of the 1967 landmark film, 'Bonnie and Clyde,' died yesterday September 28, a day after his 88th birthday. Those close to Penn say that he had been in bad health for the past year.

AMC Aquires Rights To Godfather Films Through 2019

In a move that further solidifies its offering of premium television on basic cable, AMC announced today it has obtained exclusive U.S. cable rights from Paramount Pictures to The Godfather (1972), The Godfather: Part II (1974) and The Godfather: Part III (1990) for the next nine years, beginning January 2011 through December 2019.

This summer is going to be busy with Boxcar's biggest project to date: Three sizzling Tennessee Williams plays running in repertory. Sound insane for a black box theatre? That's exactly why Boxcar's Artistic Directors thought to do it. With three rolling openings one week after another, the ensemble will then go into a traditional nightly rep schedule with Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (Directed by Jeffrey Hoffman), A Streetcar Named Desire (Directed by Rebecca Longworth) and The Glass Menagerie (Directed by Jessica Holt). The Tenn Will Project, as it is being referred to as by the artistic team, caps off a very ambitious 13-play season by Boxcar, and defines their season of 'Re-Imagining the Familiar.'
