The Laguna Playhouse recently announced their upcoming 2010-2011 season, which marks the company's 90th anniversary. The 2010-2011 season begins July 6 with the award-winning hit musical Life Could Be a Dream. Other sensational shows on the season schedule include the World Premiere of the poignant dramatic comedy I Loved Lucy, the World Premiere co-production of the romantic musical Daddy Long Legs, Hershey Felder in MAESTRO: The Art of Leonard Bernstein, and the classic Noel Coward comedy Private Lives.

Aurora Theatre Company Artistic Director Tom Ross directs this new play from Johnson, whom The Chicago Reader declared 'balances gallows humor with acute insight and compassion. He creates characters so real you wonder what will happen to them after the final blackout.' Featuring Julia Brothers and Warren David Keith, along with Rebecca Schweitzer, Paul Santiago, Tina Sanchez, and Adrian Anchondo, THE FIRST GRADE plays January 22-February 28 at the Aurora Theatre in Berkeley.

Marin Theatre Company will produce the world premiere of its 2009 Sky Cooper New American Play Prize winner, Sunlight by Sharr White, January 21 through February 14, 2010. In addition to the Sky Cooper Prize, Sunlight has garnered substantial national recognition. Following MTC's premiere, this searing political thriller will be produced at three other theaters as part of a National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere-Arts West in Seattle, Phoenix Theatre in Indianapolis, and New Jersey Rep.

The Dramatists Guild of America has announced their DuoLogues seminar series season opener, featuring a conversation between celebrated composers Carol Hall and Peter Mills, occurring Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at 5:30 p.m. The conversation will take place at the Dramatists Guild's New York office, in the Frederick Loewe Room. This seminar is free to the public, but reservations are required. To enter the building at 1501 Broadway, you will need to present photo ID.
