More than 20 of cabaret's brightest stars will be honored at the 25th Annual Bistro Awards which will take place on Tuesday, April 13 at Gotham Comedy Club. Legendary singer-dancer-actress Mitzi Gaynor, star of such films as South Pacific, Les Girls, Anything Goes, and a longtime headliner in Las Vegas and the nightclub circuit, making her first NY night club appearance in years in May at Feinstein's at Loews Regency, will be honored with the Bob Harrington Lifetime Achievement Award. Elaine Stritch, the uniquely sensational actress and singer and star of stage, film, and TV, will be recognized in the category of Extraordinary Cabaret Artist, noting her recent conquests of the cabaret stage.

America's foremost Gilbert & Sullivan repertory ensemble, the New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players, will enter the cabaret scene with a new musical revue entitled 'I've Got a Little Twist' opening Thursday, January 8th (7PM) at Off Broadway's Triad Theatre (158 West 72nd Street). Six stars of the NYGASP company will get up close and personal in this new musical revue which showcases a fresh take on G&S favorites and other musical theatre selections from the 'living legacy of G&S.'

The award-winning York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) continues its ongoing Developmental Reading Series by presenting The Happy Hypocrite as the final reading in the 2008 series. The Happy Hypocrite will be presented Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at 3:00 PM. As always, these readings are open to the general public and admission is free, but reservations are suggested.
