The Sundance Institute Theatre Program today announced it will be workshopping from May 17-29, 2011 PAPER DOLLS, a new play written by the Program's Producing Artistic Director Philip Himberg and directed by Mark Brokaw.

Primary Stages (Casey Childs, Founder & Executive Producer; Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director; Elliot Fox, Managing Director) launches its 27th season with the World Premiere of the new comedy, Olive and the Bitter Herbs by Charles Busch. Sundance Institute announced today the acting company participating in its 2011 Theatre Lab held at The Banff Centre in Alberta, Canada from March 27-April 17. The Theatre Lab provides an atmosphere focused on artistic development and collaboration to develop and refine new theatre work with the support of full casts. Building upon the Sundance Institute's history of cultivating international exchange and dialogue, the 2011Theatre Lab projects and participants illustrate and explore the world's most innovative storytelling. A record number 89 artists began their Lab experience on World Theatre Day, bringing works from the United States, Mexico, and Tanzania to the three week workshop. Sundance Institute is grateful for the assistance of the Performing Arts Residency Program at The Banff Centre.

This March, the CAP21 Theatre Company opens its new theatre with a production of The Daughters , a new musical by Shaina Taub, will be the debut production of the CAP21 Theatre Company in its new state-of-the-art black box theatre. Now occupying two floors, the CAP21 facility features 2 performance spaces - the new Black Box Theatre in addition to The Shop, plus a total of 17 rehearsal studios.
