World Premiere of Lauren Gunderson's THE TAMING Plays Crowded Fire Theater, Now thru 10/26

Crowded Fire Theater (CFT) presents the World Premiere of Lauren Gunderson's crackling modern farce THE TAMING, opening Monday October 7 and running today, October 3-26 at the Thick House in San Francisco's Potrero Hill. Directed by Marissa Wolf, THE TAMING hilariously takes on America's overheated political rhetoric, some surprising truths about our founding fathers, and the passions of three slightly insane women who just might be revolutionary geniuses. THE TAMING was commissioned and developed through CFT's The Matchbox: Commissioning and Developing New Plays Series.

Today, June 8th, 8pm Marilee Talkington's THE CREATIVE PROCESS: An IVF Living Art Piece will be performed atat PUSH Fitness in a second public performance. This curated evening of performances celebrating 'Femininity and ability to create' will also be live-streamed on USTREAM and will include aerial dancing, live music, beat poetry, martial arts, and Marilee performing a 10 character monologue about best practices to get pregnant. In the play, the wealthy parents of a girl severely disabled with cerebral palsy are strained to the breaking point by the burden of caring for their daughter.

TBTB to Open 2008-2009 Season With 'The Middle Ages'

Following the success of last season's THE COCKTAIL HOUR, Theater Breaking Through Barriers (formerly Theater By The Blind) presents another comedy by A.R. Gurney. TBTB will begin its 2008-2009 season with THE MIDDLE AGES, on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at 7PM at the Kirk Theatre, Theatre Row. The official opening will be on Sunday, November 2, 2008 at 3PM. Artistic Director of TBTB, Ike Schambelan, will direct.
