The House That Will Not Stand runs June 10 - July 10, 2016, with the press performance on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 7:30 pm at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue.
Victory Gardens to Host Benefit Peformance of THE HOUSE THAT WILL NOT STAND in Support of Chicago Artist Sam Roberson

Victory Gardens Theater will host a special benefit performance of The House That Will Not Stand by Ensemble Playwright Marcus Gardley, directed by VG Artistic Director Chay Yew, in support of Congo Square Theatre's Artistic Director Sam G. Roberson, Jr. on June 18, 2016 at 7:30 pm. Victory Gardens will donate fifty percent of the proceeds from the performance to assist Roberson with housing, food and medical care as he waits for a heart and kidney transplant. The evening will include a pre-show reception starting at 6:30 pm to celebrate Sam followed by the performance at 7:30 pm. Tickets for this performance can be purchased at www.victorygradens.org or by calling the box office at 773.871.3000. Victory Gardens Theater is located at 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue. New Season Announced for New Victory Theater

As New York City's premier theater for kids and families, The New Victory Theater announces its 2016-17 season. From September 30, 2016 through May 21, 2017, the New Victory 2016-17 season will feature two world premieres, six U.S. premieres and six NY premieres among its 15 productions from 11 different countries around the world.

This regularly scheduled program of play readings provides playwrights a platform to develop their plays-in-progress, and will give audiences opportunities to experience exciting new work throughout the year. Following last month's announcement of the incoming Jerome and Many Voices Fellows, the Playwrights' Center is pleased to introduce the 2016-17 McKnight National Residency and Commission recipient, two 2016-17 McKnight Fellows in Playwriting, six new Core Writers and three 2016-17 Core Apprentices. McKnight Theater Artist Fellows will be announced in June.

Victory Gardens' 42nd Season will include the Chicago Premieres of Hand to God by Robert Askins, directed by Gary Griffin; Native Gardens by Karen Zacarias, directed by Marti Lyons; and the World Premieres of Roz and Ray by Karen Hartman, directed by Artistic Director Chay Yew; A Wonder in My Soul by Ensemble Playwright Marcus Gardley, directed by Artistic Director Chay Yew; and Queen by Madhuri Shekar, directed by Artistic Associate Joanie Schultz. The 42nd Season will also include a Bonus Series featuring the Chicago Premieres of Wrestling Jerusalem written and performed by Aaron Davidman, directed by Michael John Garces; St. Jude written and performed by Ensemble Playwright Luis Alfaro; and A Little Bit Not Normal written and performed by Arlene Malinowski.
