The Manhattan Theatre Club production of NIGHTINGALE, the new play written and performed by Lynn Redgrave and directed by Joseph Hardy, is now in previews at New York City Center - Stage I. The first production photos have been released and are viewable below. The show will have an official opening on November 3 and run through December 13.

The Manhattan Theatre Club production of NIGHTINGALE, the new play written and performed by Lynn Redgrave and directed by Joseph Hardy, begins previews tonight at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I in preparation for a Tuesday, November 3 opening night.

The 2009 Theatre Hall of Fame inductees have been revealed and include such icons as actors Jim Dale, John McMartin and Lynn Redgrave; producers Roger Berlind and Ted Mann; composers Stephen Schwartz and Andrew Lloyd Webber; and, posthumously, the late playwright/actor Charles Ludlum. The Annual Theatre Hall of Fame ceremony, now in its 39th year, will be held Jan. 25, 2010, in the Gershwin Theatre's North Rotunda. Terry Hodge Taylor is producing the event.

Drama Desk Award-winner Everett Quinton (Charles Ludlam's Ridiculous Theatrical Company), Michael Winther (33 Variations, Damn Yankees, 1776, and Mamma Mia! on Broadway), and Marlon Sherman (Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast on Broadway) are set to star in Max Understood, running at the 45th Street Theatre in the 2009 New York Musical Theatre Festival. Marlon Sherman will be playing the title role of Max.

Gerald Freedman directed the original production of Ragni, Rado & McDermott's HAIR at Joseph Papp's Public Theatre in 1967. He is currently Dean of the School of Drama at UNC School of the Arts in Winston-Salem.

New York City Center's 2009-10 season begins on September 22 with the sixth annual Fall for Dance Festival, featuring 20 companies in 10 nights of dance for only $10 per ticket.
