Live Performance Australia (LPA) today announced that a List of Nominations in each of the 41 categories for the Helpmann Awards® will be announced in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, concurrently, on Monday 6 August at 6pm at the Capitol Theatre, Sydney, Arts Centre, Melbourne and Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC), Brisbane.

Morning Melodies returns on Wednesday 25 July at 10.30am with Australia's newest leading lady Lucy Maunder (The Threepenny Opera, Doctor Zhivago, A Little Night Music), performing the hits and gems of one of the gifted songwriters of the 20th century - Irving Berlin.

The second season of Morning Melodies on the main stage of His Majesty's Theatre begins next month on Wednesday 25 July and features music theatre star Lucy Maunder, who recently appeared as Lara in Dr Zhivago opposite Anthony Warlow. Come to the Honky Tonk Palace of broken dreams and melodic memories as Lucy sings a selection of the Irving Berlin songbook.

Nominations were announced today for the Sydney Theatre Awards for 2011, which will be presented at a gala ceremony on January 16, 2012 at 6pm at the Paddington RSL. The full list of nominations is as follows:

The annual Helpmann Awards® recognise distinguished artistic achievement and excellence in the many disciplines of Australia's vibrant live performance sectors, including musical theatre, contemporary music, comedy, opera, classical music, theatre, dance and physical theatre. The Helpmann Awards also incorporates the JC Williamson Award for outstanding contribution to the Australian live performance industry.

According to WAToday, producers are hoping to bring OCTOR ZHIVAGO STAR Anthony Warlow alongfor a West End transfer. The production is currently enjoying a successful run at Her Majesty's Theatre in in Melbourne, following at Sydney's Lyric Theatre. Grossing an average of $1 million a week. An official announcement concerning the West End production is exected to be made during the 12 week Melbourne run.

Director Des McAnuff Jersey Boys arrived in Australia from Canada just before Christmas to commence rehearsals, and others had flown in from the US including composer Lucy Simon, choreographer Kelly Devine, music supervisor Eric Stern, orchestrator Danny Troob and US co-producer Anita Waxman.
