The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts presents the West Coast premiere of A Coffin in Egypt, a new chamber opera in one act, based on the play, A Coffin in Egypt by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Horton Foote, for three performances only tonight, April 23 and April 25 and 27 in the Bram Goldsmith Theater.

The Cleveland Orchestra announces a free community concert in which the Orchestra performs 'side-by-side' with members of the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra (COYO). The concert will be given in Severance Hall tonight, April 18, at 7:30 p.m. and will be conducted by Brett Mitchell, who is in his first season as assistant conductor of The Cleveland Orchestra and music director of the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra.

Jeffrey Siegel's Keyboard Conversations are brilliantly polished concerts-with-commentary format in which captivating remarks precede virtuoso performances of piano masterpieces. The Los Angeles Times acclaims "Jeffrey Siegel has everything: massive technique, musical sensitivity and character, wide tonal resources, immense reserves of power, and the ability to communicate." These talents will be displayed at Harris Center for the Arts in Folsom as Mr. Siegel concludes this season's series of concerts with Mistresses and Masterpieces on May 18.

The Utah Symphony led by Music Director Thierry Fischer will tour Utah's red rock country, home to the state's five iconic national parks, in August 2014 with free outdoor performances surrounded by the landscape of Capitol Reef, Arches, Canyonlands, Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks. Presented by the George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Foundation, The Mighty 5® Tour represents a collaboration between two of Utah's great treasures, the state's leading arts organization, Utah Symphony | Utah Opera, and the unparalleled natural beauty of Utah's red rock country preserved within the five national parks, collectively known as "The Mighty 5."

Vladimir Jurowski will make his New York Philharmonic debut conducting Szymanowski's Violin Concerto No. 1, featuring Janine Jansen as soloist, and selections from Prokofiev's Cinderella, Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at 7:30 p.m.; Thursday, May 22 at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, May 23 at 2:00 p.m.; and Saturday, May 24 at 8:00 p.m.

Of all the music that Richard Strauss wrote during his long career—and he'd composed almost 60 songs and more than 40 piano works by the time he was 18—perhaps none are more gorgeous and moving than his FOUR LAST SONGS (VIER LETZTE LIEDER). Finnish soprano Karita Mattila's performance on Saturday night at Carnegie Hall with the Munich Philharmonic under Fabio Luisi was gleaming and full bodied, and she held the audience in her thrall.

Carnegie Hall previously announced that conductor Fabio Luisi has agreed to step in for Lorin Maazel tonight, April 12 at 8:00 p.m., leading the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra in the second of two all-Richard Strauss programs this week at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. Due to illness, Maestro Maazel with deep regret has cancelled his professional engagements in Munich and New York this week. The April 12 program is unchanged, with soprano Karita Mattila singing Strauss's Four Last Songs on a program that also includes Ein Heldenleben and Der Rosenkavalier Suite.

Christoph von Dohnanyi will return to the New York Philharmonic to conduct Brahms's Piano Concerto No. 1, featuring Paul Lewis in his Philharmonic debut, and Schumann's Symphony No. 2, tonight, April 10, 2014, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, April 11 at 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, April 12 at 8:00 p.m.

The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra presents All Rachmaninoff with Music Director Edo de Waart on April 25-27, 2014 at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. The program includes Rachmaninoff's Prince Rostislav, Symphony No. 3 in A minor, and Piano Concerto No. 4 in G minor featuring pianist Joyce Yang.

Bernard Haitink will return to the New York Philharmonic to conduct two weeks of performances highlighting works by Austrian composers - Berg, Webern, and Mahler - and Beethoven, who spent much of his career in Austria. In the first program, Mr. Haitink will conduct Webern's Im Sommerwind, Berg's Violin Concerto with Leonidas Kavakos, and Beethoven's Symphony No. 3, Eroica, on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, May 9 at 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, May 10 at 8:00 p.m. Bernard Haitink's appearances are part of an international, season-wide celebration of the 60th anniversary of his conducting debut with the Netherlands Radio Union Orchestra (now the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra) and his 85th birthday.

Pablo Heras-Casado will make his New York Philharmonic debut conducting Barto?k's Piano Concerto No. 3, featuring pianist Peter Serkin; Britten's Four Sea Interludes from Peter Grimes; and Shostakovich's Symphony No. 10, today, April 2, 2014, at 7:30 p.m.; Thursday, April 3 at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, April 4 at 11:00 a.m.; and Saturday, April 5 at 8:00 p.m.

Violinist James Thompson, currently a student of Cleveland Orchestra Concertmaster William Preucil at the Cleveland Institute of Music, will perform with The Cleveland Orchestra as soloist in Saint-Saëns's Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso for violin and orchestra. Mr. Thompson was a member of the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra from 2005 to 2012. His positions in COYO included principal second violin, followed by concertmaster.

The New York Philharmonic will return to Bravo! Vail in Colorado for the Orchestra's 12th- annual summer residency there, performing six concerts July 18-25, 2014. Music Director Alan Gilbert will conduct three programs, July 18-20, featuring works by composers for whom he has advocated during his tenure, ranging from Nielsen to The Marie-Jose?e Kravis Composer-in- Residence Christopher Rouse. The other Philharmonic concerts will be conducted by Bramwell Tovey (July 23 and 25) and Ted Sperling (July 24), and will feature works by Copland, Gershwin, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, and Loesser, among others.

Music Director Alan Gilbert will conduct the New York Philharmonic in the New York Premiere of The Marie-Josee Kravis Composer-in-Residence Christopher Rouse's Requiem with baritone Jacques Imbrailo, the Westminster Symphonic Choir directed by Joe Miller, and the Brooklyn Youth Chorus directed by Dianne Berkun-Menaker.
