Cockpit in Court Summer Theatre Announces Upcoming Season

Cockpit in Court Summer Theatre, in residence at the Community College of Baltimore County, Essex, located at 7201 Rossville Blvd., offers an exciting and eclectic 41st season in 2013. Children's Playhouse of Maryland Opens GREASE: SCHOOL VERSION, 5/4

Children's Playhouse of Maryland, in residence at the Community College of Baltimore County, Essex, brings "Grease: School Version" to the stage at 1 p.m. weekends beginning Saturday, May 4 through Sunday, May 19. An additional performance at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 12 will be sign-language interpreted by students in the CCBC Interpreter Preparation program. All performances will be held in the J Building Lecture Hall (J-137) at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Blvd. in Rosedale, Md. The J-Building Lecture Hall at CCCB Essex is a wheelchair-accessible facility. Please request accommodations at the time of ticket purchase. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from the CCBC Box Office at 443-840-ARTS (2787) or online at https://www.ticketreturn.com/prod2/team.asp?SponsorID=4917. Tickets are available at the door, space permitting. Advanced purchase is recommended.

The Children's Playhouse of Maryland, in residence at CCBC Essex, presents Disney's Aladdin, Jr., beginning this weekend at CCBC Essex. The production features a cast of more than 30 student actors from Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Harford County. Shows will run at 1 p.m. today, March 2 and March 3, 9-10, 16 and 17 and 4 p.m. March 10 that will be sign-language interpreted by students of the CCBC Interpreter Preparation certification program.

Children's Playhouse of Maryland Triumphs at National Junior Theater Festival

The Children's Playhouse of Maryland, in residence at CCBC Essex, garnered two major awards at this year's invitational Junior Theater Festival. CPM's production of Disney's The Little Mermaid, Jr. captured the prestigious Freddy Gershon Award for Excellence in Music. Jamie Watson of Baltimore, (pictured left) as the Sea Witch Ursula, won the coveted Outstanding Female Performer award. Brad Bowers of Towson and Jamie Watson were named Festival Performing All Stars and Nick Logue of Essex and Tony Steiner of Baltimore were named Festival Technical Theatre All Stars.
