Schools That Can, a national nonprofit focused on improving urban education, will hold a benefit concert to honor the life and legacy of jazz singer and civil-rights activist Lena Horne on Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. at New York City's Symphony Space.

This December, the acclaimed Off-Broadway Axis Theatre Company will present its 14th annual beloved family holiday show, Seven in One Blow, or the Brave Little Kid. Adapted from the classic fairy tale by The Brothers Grimm, this festive, interactive winter play is written and directed by Axis Artistic Director Randy Sharp.

Well after Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. Amas Musical Theatre and The Amas Song Salon will offer a special presentation with three rising Broadway talents -- Sydney James Harcourt (Hamilton), Doreen Montalvo (On Your Feet) and Timothy Ware (Kinky Boots) -- who will present musical highlights from their respective shows. The evening will be held on Monday, November 30 in a spectacular, sky-high location on West 57th Street.

Tamara Tunie  returned to Feinstein's/54 Below with her highly anticipated show which kicks  off her national cabaret tour and Broadwayworld was there last night.  The Pittsburgh daughter will wow audiences with a fresh take on the 'Legends from The Burgh,' where she repeats her sold out performance with additional, new songs celebrating the music of the legendary artists that hail from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the city of Three Rivers.

CAROL LIPNIK - the spellbinding, darkly-humorous singer and songwriter who blends folk music and art song with the classic nightclub tradition - has announced a new lineup of guest stars for her weekly residency that runs through January 31, 2016.

Actor Arthur French has been named to receive the 2015 Paul Robeson Citation Award presented by the Actors Equity Foundation.              

Axis Theatre will present the world premiere of The Vast Machine, a new play written and directed by Randy Sharp about the dilemmas facing the crew of a slave ship at sea in the Middle Passage. Performances will take place tonight, October 1, through October 24 at Axis Theatre (1 Sheridan Square) in the West Village.

Amas Musical Theatre and The Amas Musical Theatre Lab will present further staged readings for the New York premiere of I AM, I WILL, I DO, a new musical with book, music and lyrics by Dan Manjovi.
