Billy Youth Theatre West End Gala Set To Take Place July 17

Billy Elliot the Musical announces the 13 groups that will be given the opportunity to live their very own Billy Elliot dream having been selected to perform an adapted version of the musical at the second Billy Youth Theatre West End Gala which will take place at London's Victoria Palace Theatre - the home of Billy Elliot - on Sunday 17 July 2011 at 7pm.

TimeLine Theatre will host some of Chicago's top news reporters, each who have been covering the recent Blagojevich trial, for a timely post-show discussion titled Exclusive! Chicago's Top Reporters on The Front Page: Same Story, Different Century. This newly-added special event will be on Sunday, July 10, immediately following the 2 p.m. matinee of TimeLine's hit production of The Front Page, Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur's classic comedy about Windy City politics and journalism in the 1920s.

BILLY ELLIOT Scribe Blames Homophophia for Cancellation of New Opera, BEACHED

According to the New York Times, Lee Hall, the Tony Award-winning book writer and lyricist of BILLY ELLIOT, claims that discrimination against gays let to the cancellation of his newest opera, 'Beached'. The Times also notes that a school, whose students would have taken part in the opera, said it had withdrawn because of concerns about strong language.

Universal Pictures Stage Productions, Working Title Films and Old Vic Productions in association with Weinstein Live Entertainment announced today that Patrick Mulvey will join the cast of the 10-time Tony Award winning Billy Elliot the Musical in the role of ‘Tony.' Mulvey began his journey as the original ‘Tony' in the Chicago production of Billy Elliot. He comes to the Broadway company direct from the Toronto production of Billy Elliot. Current ‘Tony' Will Chase will play his final performance Sunday, July 10, 2011 at 7:30pm. Mulvey's first performance is scheduled for Friday, July 15 at 7:30pm.
