MNA Productions, Inc. has announced that Tony Lo Bianco will reprise his award-winning role as Mayor Fiorello H. La Guardia in THE LITTLE FLOWER, which begins performances Off-Broadway on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 (Opening Night) at the Dicapo Opera Theatre (184 East 76th Street between Lexington and 3rd Ave). Written and directed by Mr. Lo Bianco, adapted from the play Hizzoner! by Paul Shyre, THE LITTLE FLOWER will play a special limited-run through Friday, November 2, 2012. The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today its 2012 NYFF HBO Films® Directors Dialogues participants would be Abbas Kiarostami, David Chase and Robert Zemeckis and the popular On Cinema conversation will feature two directors - Noah Baumbach and Brian De Palma. FSLC also announced additional titles as part of its Masterworks program, including the Director's Cut of Frank Oz's LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, restored versions of Michael Cimino's HEAVEN'S GATE, Laurence Olivier's RICHARD III and Peter Whitehead's THE ROLLING STONES - CHARLING IS MY DARLING - IRELAND 1965, as well as two special sidebar presentations as part of the festival's 50th Anniversary celebration.

A celebrated list of industry elite will gather to honor one of Hollywood's greatest cheerleaders - Dale Olson. The Actors Fund and The Hollywood Museum (formerly The Max Factor Museum), will host a memorial for one of the entertainment industry's greatest publicists and industry insiders, who passed in early August. A lobby exhibit will be designed to highlight the remarkable career of the man who many have referred to as the guardian of the Golden Era of Hollywood.

Today in 1983, La Cage Aux Folles opened at the Palace Theatre, where it ran for 1761 performances. With a book by Harvey Fierstein and lyrics and music by Jerry Herman, it is based on the 1973 French play of the same name by Jean Poiret. The original 1983 Broadway production received nine nominations for Tony Awards and won six, including Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book. The success of the musical spawned a West End production and several international runs. The 2004 Broadway revival won the Tony Award for Best Revival, the 2008 London revival garnered the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival. The 2010 Broadway revival was nominated for eleven Tony Awards, winning the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical. La Cage aux Folles is the only musical which has won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical twice and the only show that has won a Best Production Tony Award (Best Musical or Best Revival of a Musical) for each of its Broadway productions.

'Shirley Valentine,' an entertaining comedy by Willy Russell directed by NSTC's Artistic Director Ceil Herman and starring Janet Mazdra, is the first play of No Strings Theatre Company's 2012-2013 Season. 'Shirley Valentine' now runs through Sunday, September 2, after an extension at the Black Box Theatre, 430 N Downtown Mall in Las Cruces.
