Last night, May 2, 2016, The New York Pops celebrated its 33rd birthday with a grand gala evening celebrating the revolutionary collaborations of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg, the songwriting team behind LES MISERABLES, Miss Saigon, and more. Serving as Honorary Co-Chairs for the event were musical theatre legends Sir Cameron Mackintosh and Patti LuPone. Maestro Keith Lockhart chats about Mandy Patinkin, Sutton Foster and the 2016 season of the Boston Pops

Dozens of Broadway and music celebs joined Leslie Becker last Thursday at The Vanity in NYC for the celebration of her debut single release SLOW BURN. Guests were treated to a live performance by Leslie which included 'Slow Burn' and the first performance of her new single 'Confidential,' featuring dancers Timothy Wilson and Anthony Alfaro. (Choreographed by Yoav Levin).

Second Stage Theatre, in association with Stacey MindichProductions, just last night opened the new musical, Dear Evan Hansen, featuring Ben Platt as the title character. Also reprising their performances from the 'splendid (Marks, Washington Post) DC cast are Laura Dreyfuss as Zoe, Mike Faist as Connor, Rachel Bay Jones as Heidi, Will Roland as Jared, Jennifer Laura Thompson as Cynthia. New cast members John Dossett (Larry) and Kristolyn Lloyd (Alana) complete the company.

Today's big news: Broadway's best gather for tonight's 2016 New York Pops Gala, this year's August Wilson Monologue Competition is this evening, and the cast of WAITRESS hits the recording studio, so stay tuned for coverage!

The big event is just days away and the celebrate, BroadwayWorld's Richard Ridge sat down with the legendary duo to chat about all things Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, and so much more!

Their third musical, despite its Olivier award, never received the recognition of their LES MISERABLES and MISS SAIGON.

The Legend of New York, with music by Joshua Salzman and book and lyrics by Ryan Cunningham, is a Sodom and Gomorrah story set during the 1977 New York City blackout. An angel appears to a NYC cop and sends him on a quest to find three souls worth saving by sunrise or else the city will be destroyed. This funk-infused new musical celebrates '70s New York in all its grungy glory-taking you from Central Park to Times Square to CBGBs to, of course, the legendary Studio 54.

The Camp Broadway Kids, a musical theatre ensemble comprised of 60 theatre-loving kids, ages 12-16, will be featured at The New York Pops 33rd Birthday Gala at Carnegie Hall on Monday, May 2, 2016.

A benefit concert featuring the original Tony-nominated stars of the recent Broadway production of Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA -- Laura Osnes, Santino Fontana and Victoria Clark -- and an evening of new work focusing on the award-winning, rising musical theatre writer Adam Gwon are among the highlights of Bucks County Playhouse's Oscar Hammerstein Festival, today, April 29, through May 1.
